If the Rockets truly would move Beverly for LBs contract - I would do it. But I think it has to be done by Friday as if LB is not released by 7/3 - his contract is guaranteed. And than all trades after 7/1 really are not official until like 7/10 - so LB would get paid.

Who knows - maybe the Rockets are really targeting Griffin. That Ryan Anderson deal not looking good at all.

Beverly on this team would be a tough pill to swallow. I've hated that guy whenever we play against him. He's the personaification of that pestering player you hate to play against but the team mate you want.

On the flip side, LB is one of my favouite Suns ever and rooted for him wherever he went. This will be a complete 180

For me, typically, when they say "he's the player you hate until he's on your team", I scoff or maybe swear. I'd hate to have to cheer for Dennis Rodman or Robert Horry or Karl Malone or Bruce Bowen. But Beverley is the exception. He'll never be my favorite player but I could tolerate having him on my team (as a backup) for the intensity and effort he brings. He's a little dirty and I don't like dirty, but I think he's more Raja Bell dirty than he is Manu Ginobili dirty and I can live with that.

Would never want Beverly. I don't like Pg's that can't shoot.
As far as the Irving rumor or supposed trade that was suppose to go down. I am glad it didn't go down. If instead we gave up the 2 Miami picks for Irving then I would have been all over it. Irving has the best handles in the NBA, and contrary to a lot of others opinions I feel he can distribute the ball better than his stats indicate. He can hit the 3 ball, he can attack the basket, and he basically looks like a modern AI IMO. Probably not what a lot of people like, but I'm a fan of his game.
Again, if we were able to keep Booker/Jackson/Bender/Chriss I would be down for trading for Irving.

Patrick Beverley is a career 37.5% 3pt shooter and shot 38.2% last season?

What are you talking about can't shoot? Beverley shot 38% from 3 this year and 40% the year before. That's why I can't believe they'd let him go and think he'd be perfect. He'd immediately be our best shooter and defender.

Yeah, I mentioned that possibility in the draft thread....Booker, Jackson, Warren, Chriss, and C, or slide everyone up a position with Bledsoe or Ulis at point for small ball..

I don't think you need a traditional PG. I think you need multiple guys who can handle the ball and initiate the offense. Jackson and Booker have that in their game. Bender is advertised to have that in his game.

It's why I like Griffin's fit on the team. He is a facilitator. I would love to see him play with a less ball dominant point guard.

I disagree, I think you need a PG, a main facilitator to start the offense, other facilitators who dont let the ball stick are a must as well, but you still need that guy who you can rely on in the half court to set up the offense. I dont think Jackson or Booker offer that, hell Bledsoe barely offers that in comparison to Ulis.

He'll be playing with a much less talented passing and more ball dominant guard in Booker. :-?

Outside of Lebron and maybe Wall, Chris Paul is probably the best facilitator Griffin could play with.

Are some of you guys coming around to Booker facilitating the offense Harden style? About time.

Position-less.

Booker
Jackson
Warren
Bender
Chris

You guys know I love it!! 4 of those 5 could bring the ball up the court.

I'd start the other way. With Bledsoe and run this proposed lineup in phases.

It would never happen though. Beverly is going to be 29 Jul 12th....Rather keep Bledsoe,

Even LeBron plays with a PG.

I didnt want to create a new thread just for this, so im putting it in here:

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-nba-haters-ball/

The NBA Haters’ Ball
Most blown dunks? Worst defender? The 2016-17 NBA season’s most dubious achievements.

MOST OVER-AMBITIOUS DUNKER
Marquese Chriss, Phoenix Suns

The missed dunk is one of the more universal plays in basketball. In a split-second, it has a neat little narrative arc: the audacity to leap in defiance of gravity and the instant comeuppance. Some players experience this more than others. Marquese Chriss experiences it more than anyone.

Chriss missed 26 dunks this season, four more than second-place DeAndre Jordan … on 146 fewer attempts. Chriss’s 79.8 shooting percentage on dunks is the worst mark Basketball Reference has on record for any player who tried at least 100 dunks in a season.

Not all missed dunks are of equal difficulty, of course. Dwyane Wade getting stuffed by the bottom of the rim in a playoff game is not the same as Chriss blowing in-traffic NBA Jam dunks. But there’s a certain charm to Chriss’s misses, like he knows they aren’t “all worth two points” and he’s determined to collect the difference, even at the cost of the two points.

I heard on Gambo's show that we prefer Len over Chandler (at suitable price and if Chandler is movable)

Per 36 (points / rebounds)
Chandler: 11 / 14
Len: 14 / 11

Cheaper and 11 years younger.

I would hope so, Chandler was really showing his age out there last season. I'm willing to keep Alex but only on a very reasonable contract. I consider keeping Williams to be a higher priority even though his ceiling is much more limited than Len's.

This team really needs to learn how to value each possession. No more "heat checks" or "statement dunks".
