Bender and Chriss were drafted a long time ago. We didn’t even have Josh back then.

I’d be perfectly happy moving Bender and Chriss now, but I am not building around them. They are role players, and if we don’t extend them, that’s on them.

If I’m appeasing anyone with this pick, it’s not Igor. It’s Booker. This is a very long term play, and we have to look at it that way. Who we pick here (hopefully) can determine our trajectory for 20 years.

I don’t want Doncic and Booker sharing the ball. I want Ayton. However, I’m going to watch some more Doncic for fun. I’ll let y’all know if I change my mind.

The guy I think he compares best to, although I think he is probably a better version because he can shoot. Ben Simmons. So you only have to go back 1 year. What big has made an immediate impact as a rookie? Particularly a one and done big? Most of the best bigs stay in the lottery most years and for several years.

Simmons got eaten alive on defense and he's longer and faster. If we're just looking for someone who can shoot and pass, there are plenty of options lower in the draft.

Simmons was the best rookie in years. Ayton got eaten alive on D by the University of Buffalo. I mean I like Ayton but you're reaching with Simmons who was a solid defender. You're talking a rookie PG who was somewhat close to averaging a triple double (15/8/8) who had the 8th best PG DRPM and saying he can be easily replicated later in draft and was bad defensively?

http://www.espn.com/nba/statistics/rpm/_/sort/DRPM/position/1

I don't think it's a good comp. If you watched the playoffs, you saw Simmons could not guard on ball. Hence, TJ McConnell in games 4 and 5.

Draft Ayton, trade for TJ McConnell, bring Nash in with a deal he can't refuse to train/mentor McConnell.

I think Doncic would make things much easier for Booker than Ayton would.

Draft Doncic, throw money at Capela, either of the two I'm okay with.

As a child, the first year that I followed the NBA was Barkley's first year with the Suns, and the Finals against the Bulls.

And to this day. It's hard to be a Suns fan but it makes you stronger. Is a Nietzschean team.

That'd be the best outcome, I agree. Houston's execs can talk all they want about how money is not an object with Capela, but if a team offers him a max contract, they'll have to think twice about basically paying 40 million a year for a player. That's crazy stuff.

Thanks my man DoM. I hope it's Doncic, but am glad if it's not it's almost certainly Ayton, being an AZ fan and all.

Been a fan of Arizona the past couple years as well. Loved keeping up with Markkanen, Ayton, and Trier.

What! Bender and Chriss are still not 21. I am not dumping either of them and want to see them play with a new coach, a legit offense and a real group of playmakers.

Have you watched the Warriors recently? They have several playmakers. I see the same thing happening with the threesome of Doncic, Booker and Jackson. In the end, someone has to get the ball to Ayton. Who is that person that we have on the current roster. The teams with the best playmakers are usually the ones playing in June.

Also who are you going to get to replace Bender and Chriss for what they are going to cost next year. If the crap the bed next year, then it probably will be the time to move on.

I just have not identified any legit veterans available that I would want next year.

Booker is a good enough playmaker.

I don’t know. A free agent. I want to conserve cap space until we sign the best possible players. If Bender and Chriss don’t start making consistent contributions in the next.....three years, I have no problem trading them for contributors. The future is Doncic/Booker or Booker/Ayton. Everyone else is optional.
