Yeah, my first thought on seeing those is to show the fan base we are conducting a search and landing on Jones. Either of those hires would not make me happy.

Jim P drafted LeBron but was fired in 2005. Not the right guy to me. I am not sure who is on other staffs but maybe Hinkie would be interesting name. Wright from the Spurs - granted to go from Spurs to Sarver, that’s a reach

Pretty sad that the "GM Search" was announced MONTHS ago and the only names we are hearing are Paxson and McHale.

Agreed, especially considering McHale was something that's been linked to the Suns for years. I think he was in consideration for both coach and GM at different points in time

Perhaps the McHale/Paxson talk is just to convince the fans to be okay moving forward with Co-GMs Jones and Bukstein.

The Suns had their spurt of good wins to make it look like they weren't tanking. Now they have pulled the tank out. Timed it perfectly with the Bulls game.

I have liked Jones but I liked McD so I might not be the best judge of talent. However, I'm pretty happy with James Jones. I almost feel like the Front Office is mysterious at the moment with not many leaks. Not sure its as inactive on scouting as people think etc. Jones has a good rep and so far hasn't skipped a beat. The guy turned the rental of Trevor Ariza (and probably buy out) into Kelly Oubre who will hopefully be a piece going forward. Also the trade of Ryan Anderson for Tyler Johnson trade has worked out well. Johnson has bought enthusiasm, energy and mindset. So far, Jones' judgement has been sound. I'm kind of in the belief that its just worth letting him ride it out. Look, the only one which is 50-50 is Crawford but I see the logic and the need for an off the court mentor, I just don't like his game at the moment. However, the effect is more than just on the court.

Surely they have a plan for Summer and I think Jones is part of that plan and helping formulate it.
