The first thing he said was that the Suns are absolutely open to trading the pick and would be willing to trade down to the 7, 8, 9, or 10 slot if they can get back a good young veteran player plus the pick in return for their own pick. Now assuming the Suns keep the pick, he said the Suns are narrowing down their choices and he believes they will choose between Bender and Jamal Murray. The really shocking thing he said was that the Suns are also now considering Buddy Hield because Booker has actually grown since they drafted him and he is now 6'7" in shoes. So the Suns think they could have Booker play some small forward alongside Hield and Bledsoe in the backcourt. He mentioned the Suns are looking at picking their power forward with the 13th pick and want to pick a guard/wing player with the 4th pick unless it is Bender who they take. Also, Bender and Murray are supposed to work out for the Suns next week.
Buddy Hield screams Sarver and marketing. No way would I draft a 4 year senior who projects to be the next Jodie Meeks because he's more "ready" than the 18 and 19 year olds.
Also, I what does this mean for Knight if the Suns actually want to take a combo guard?
Jodie Meeks? I guess you haven't been paying attention.

I sometimes defend Gambo but today he said the Suns "love" Murray then said he thinks the Suns "like" Murray. Now he says the Suns are considering Hield because Booker is still growing? Sometimes I hear Gambo and I'm just like

Looking at those teams in the 7-10 spots, I dont know what young veteran we would even want.
Denver (#7) - Gallo? Faried? Chandler? I'd pass
Sactown (#8) - Cousins, but it would take a lot more than a pick change to get him. WCS?
Toronto (#9) - ???????????
Milwaukee (#10) - They are not trading Antetokounmpo/Parker/Middleton, so that leaves Henson? Monroe?
What if Sacramento, extremely desperate to get Dunn, offered #8 and next year's unprotected or even top 3 protected pick for 4? Or one more likely, but probably one people wouldn't want to do...Utah offers Lyles and 12 for 4.
Keep in mind. Lyles is extremely solid, tough, a good rebounder, only 20 years old, actually hit over 38% from 3. He's a little under the radar playing with Towns/WCS as a freshman and then behind Favors and Gobert.
I'm guessing he would be in conversation for top 5 pick this year had he stayed in college a year and probably top PF on board after Simmons (and maybe Bender). Probably could start at PF immediately for us though and we'd still have 12 and 13.
#4 for Lyles is a good trade. I liked what I saw from him and he would probably rank around that spot in this year's trade.
I wouldn't not even close. Lyles is a role player. We are shooting for a #2 or #1 option with this pick....Boom or Bust. I'd possibly trade Lyles for #13.

There are honestly at least 10 people on this board that have a better pulse on what the Suns are doing than that guy.
Gambo is a joke.

Yeah, his tune seems to change daily based on what I read here. Yesterday it was all about Brown, now no mention. Unless they told him not to mention Brown because they want him and don't want others to think we want him and nab the Boston pick to take him.
But I seriously doubt they strategize while considering what Gambo should say.

But I said Lyles AND 12 for 4. That means you get a solid PF...probably more of a sure thing than anyone in this draft outside of Simmons and maybe Ingram as far as forwards go, and then you could either take another PF and a SF at 12/13 or PG and SF or whatever.
I think that would be a decent trade. I just honestly think between about 4-12 the prospects are all fairly equal unless you REALLY want or need a guard.

Yes, I read that the first time, but guys in the 4-12 range do not appear to be #1 or #2 options. I know you feel like Brown can be the next bigger version of Westbrook and that Dunn will be an immediate all star, and Murray and Hield might be immediate splash brother types, but I don't really see it. Fantasizing about the draft is fun though.

All of the guys you mentioned have a better chance then Lyles and the #12. At least I know Brown or Murray or Dunn or Hield have a chance. I am not feeling the trade for someone elses role player and add a pick that you hope is a rotation player.
What if....Dunn's game translate you can't say it wont. The same goes for the other guys, you have know idea, yet you are like lets not try. I am not with that. Brown and Dunn are elite athletes Hield and Murray are elite shooter....Lyles, C'mon man.

Lyles was in the same boat as Booker who was a little less heralded than Towns and WCS last year, and they went 12 and 13. He has shown GREAT things much like Booker has. I mean heck, he shot 38.3% from 3 vs Booker's 34.3%. And it wasn't like he was on far less volume. Per 36 Booker shot 4.9 3s and Lyles shot 3.3 of them. Is Booker a role player?
My guess is Lyles would be ahead of Murray, Hield, Brown, and Dunn and all the PFs after Bender this year and you would be hoping he was the 1 or 2 option you are hoping these others are. I'm not sure what you expect a guy to do when he plays behind Favors.

Second one is better because you have four shooters, but hopefully neither happens, particularly the first one. If we don't get Bender (and draft a guard or something) and sign him, hopefully he can play quite a bit of PF.

Meeks wasn't nearly the same prospect that Hield is. Poor comparison.
