Boston has 3 mid round picks they will actively shop.
Lots of picks available out there.

There's already been discussions today on "First Take" I believe man, wherein rumors are circulating that the Lakers would consider, Or are looking to possibly move Ball for the something along the lines of the 7th pick and a young player.
Of course, This would be contingent upon what New Orleans prefers. But would you, if you're James Jones, At this point offer the 6th pick, and Josh Jackson for Lonzo Ball???
Or with respect to Boston, look at offering Jackson/ the 6th pick/ and the Milwaukee pick in exchange for maybe........Marcus Smart/ and their 14th pick? ( If you thought that Clarke would last till then?).
With our 6th pick being what it is, and needing a veteran guard, for my part, I'd definitely explore the options.
So we let LA bend us over and take it in exchange for Lonzo Ball, who can't hit the broadside of a barn? GTFO with that crap.
Veteran PG?
As opposed to what other realistic options exactly???
And again, Did I not state that the premise was to have Monty ( a known great player development coach) and Warren's shooting coach work with him. How did he do with Warren's shooting again???
And whilst you laugh, Because he may not be the seasoned veteran that you'd hoped for, he's still got more expierence in the league than what Okobo or Melton currently have.
And the reality is still that he offers us an expierenced still young above average defensively, facilitating guard with size and athleticism that we can put next to Booker, and fits our current timeline.
Also, whether you like it or not (being the Lakers) And anyone who knows me, Knows that I despise the Lakers myself with " The fire of a thousand suns" ( no pun intended)
So is a valid discussion point to consider.

Not enough that the NBA rewarded LeBron. Now we should give them our pick for a trash player.

-Durant heads to NY in the offseason....but not to the Knicks. He ends up in Brooklyn. There were reports that he has talked to a few other FA's about joining him in NY.
-Irving decides to join KD in Brooklyn. Supposedly he had the Nets on his wish list and had them higher than the Knicks.
-Durant and Irving would cause the Nets to release the rights to Russell. They HAVE to do so to make the salary work.
-Trade Warren/Jackson to Cleveland for JR Smith/Zizic. Smith's contract is un-guaranteed, so we would cut him outright, freeing up roughly $17M from Warren/Jackson.
-Have around $27M in capspace to go after Russell. There will only be a handful of teams looking for a PG and many wont have that type of cash to offer him. Booker helps seal the deal.
-Now exceed the cap by retaining our own players in Oubre...and god i cant believe im saying this.....Bender.
Russell/Booker/Oubre/Clarke/Ayton

We need to keep Jackson so he and Russell can hang together. At least Suns fans will be wildly entertained by off court stupidity.

But all I'm hearing on here is all sorts of personal opinions, as to why we shouldn't consider this option or that option.
But really nothing much in contrast as a viable option in contrast???
I'm looking at discussing the most realistic and most probable options that Jones is likely entertaining and/or contemplating, given our current situation.
Now if anyone wishes to present an alternative (realistic option) that is likely to be considered, whilst also possibly sticking it to the Flakers in one form or another, Then I'm all for that.
But again, like it or not, given our current lack of resources and appeal, it would be naive to think that he's not an option being discussed for the suns.

How about keeping the pick? Actually rolling the dice on a prospect instead of just gifting the Lakers a pick + Jackson. I get that Jackson got into some trouble this offseason but that doesn't take anything away from his potential as a player. You're just throwing him away at his lowest possible trade value. That is just dumb.

I'm sorry but Jackson hasn't shown enough. Not a smart player and reckless off the court.
Maybe package Jackson/#6 and move up in the draft?

I think people saying that this new lottery format will kill tanking is garbage. I actually think this will encourage tanking but teams won't have to tank so hard this time. Imagine finishing 10,11, 12 and 13 in both conference and still have a big chance at getting 1st pick.

Has anyone mentioned that Ramona Shelburne said she could see Kryie choosing the Suns? I haven’t read the last few pages. I caught a few minutes of radio and Gambo was saying the Suns will look into it but obviously very very unlikely.

Whilst you do make good points man, and I do agree that there are great prospects to be potentially had in this draft still.
Realistically, I'm not sure that the suns value the available rookie prospects in this current draft over a potential guard with actual in game experience.
Again, which is why I proposed discussing Ball as a likely considered option currently by Jones.
And to be clear, Ball has never been my favorite choice either. Merely a realistic consideration for discussion, due to the likelihood of Jones contemplating him as a low cost alternative to players such as Conley, Lowry, Collison, Joseph, or even Rubio.
And with respect to Jackson, as it is currently stands, I'm really not sure that it can get much lower honestly. But if your'e still unsure as to his percieved value,
You can of course visit the trade board and enquire as to his percieved value throughout the league. Although I'm guessing the responses you get, might be somewhat deflating.
Now, with respect to the prospects in this draft,
Many of which I proposed for potential contingency considerations, in past posts for the draft. In looking at guards that I think could be a great fit for us at 6:
1- Coby White.
I see him as a kind of Jamal Murray/ Sam Cassell hybrid for us. Value at 6. Is a great clutch scorer too. Could help us transition back to a run and gun style offense at times, which would be great.
2- Nickiel Alexander Walker.
He's got great size at 6'5, can play with either hand, plays really good defense, and shoots close to 37% + on his threes. In interesting note, He's SGAs' cousin. And somewhat projects similarly.
3- Tyler Jerome.
He's also got great size at 6'5. Is a tremendous shooter, great passer, and plays really tenacious defense. He'd be an absolute steal for us in the late teens to early 20s' of the draft. He's like a better passing/ better defense J.J. Reddick.
And for power forwards-
1- Mfiondu Kabengele.
He's got great size at 6'10 250 lbs. Is highly mobile. Blocks shots and hits over 36% of his threes. He's similar to a young Serge Ibaka. And can currently be had around the early 20s' range.
2- Brandon Clarke, Not the overall size and girth that I'd prefer next to Ayton. But he's got good skills defensively and would help with shotblocking and rebounding. Could be kind of similar to marion for us.
3- Luka Samanic.
He's got great length and fluidity for a guy 6'11 and growing. Is an advanced ball handler at his size, is a good shooter, and is lanky and plays defense and blocks shots too.
Projects along the lines of a more athletic Dario Saric. And should be available around the end of the first round.
I personally hope that we look at such prospects AND then find a veteran guard in free agency to lead. But it's not up to any of us here. We can only speculate as to their plans at this point.

Don't count Zion out Suns fans!
This is from a random non-informed poster on the Pelicans Roost forum.
If Zion sat out a year (as opposed to going back to Duke) could the Suns or any other team sign him to a large contract or would he still be considered a rookie?

Odd Zion rumor...
was told by a co-worker (Warriors fan) that Zion hasn't signed with an agent. He read/heard somewhere that Zion was so disappointed with potentially being drafted by New Orleans and that because he hasn't signed with an agent, he can return to school or sit out a year.
I personally don't think that would happen but I suppose it's not unreasonable to think it could.

His vibe is right, he is smart, plays smart, gets a lot of steals because he sees what the other team is doing and jumps the next pass. He can shoot, has a post game and passes well. He plays within himself, not often out of control. Really when you watch him and break him down, he could be a phenom.
