Weren't they saying Gordon has Griffin like athleticism? Even if he has a limited skillset, he sounds like the kind of prospect that would flourish in the team that leads the NBA in fastbreak points. He sounds like a really nice option for one of our middle picks.

By the way, who are the shooters in this draft?

Oh, he definitely would be a great fit in Phoenix. I'm just saying I don't think he's a star in the making. As far as shooters go, the first name you probably have to start with is probably Doug McDermott. CJ Wilcox has tremendous range but questionable shot selection. Markel Brown is reminiscent of the Arizona Gilbert Arenas.

What about James Young? I've watched a couple K games and although not said to be a 3pt specialist, he certainly shoots a lot from deep. He didn't seem to have outstanding athleticism, so maybe his game will have to adapt to a more 3pt oriented role?

James Young is a bit of a question mark. I think he might be a better shooter than what he's shown this year, but you're right in that he isn't that athletic. What concerns me more is that he is so mechanical in his movement.

He's a shooter in that he likes to jack up shots, but he hasn't exactly hit a decent percentage though.

Right now, he just strikes me as The Revenge of Morris Peterson's Mediocrity.

Mo Pete was decent after all. Not what you look for, or expect, with all the hype in this class and all, but something I'd take. One would think there are better prospect out there, tho.

Gordon is Marion without the man to man defensive abilities yet.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I don't know about that. Gordon did a very good job against Jabari Parker.

I'm not saying he can't defend. But remember Marion could guard 1-4. Gordon can't do that yet.

Rodney Hood is a pretty good shooter, 43% for 3 and 58% for 2 so far. He is the player I`d target with a mid first rounder.

Could Marion do that as a freshman? It's been so long I don't remember.

Embiid with 12, 12, 5 blocks, 3 assists today, while Wiggins went 4-14 in a loss. I'm starting to think the top two picks might be Parker and Embiid, unless both teams with the top two picks have young centers they want to build around.

Well yeah in his prime. IIRC Marion didn't have any D1 scholarship offers out of HS while Gordon could pick anyone he wanted to...

Oh yeah, I hadn't checked the schedule, so that should be fun. I guess the three toughest games AZ has left are probably this one, at Colorado and at Oregon. Though you never know in conf play...it seems like any given night anything can happen. Obviously this AZ squad is quite a bit more resilient than past ones though.

We haven't been playing well at UCLA lately.

What years were you there? I was there '94 to '99.

90 to 93. We haven't played well vs UCLA period lately. I'm sure Nick Johnson, Ashley and Zeus are especially hungry to beat them. It should be another fun game with about 8 future nba players in it.
