Seems to me like the Suns played this the right way - they obviously don't beleive Bledsoe is worth a max deal, likely because of his injury history - look how narrowly they escaped with Amar'e. Still, they made him a respectable offer, and he thinks he can get more.
I think i'ts really that simple.

At any rate, Suns are positioned well and have a great roster. They really just have to roll the dice with EB and see what this season brings.

As a Mexican it would have been nice had the Suns gone after Gustavo Ayon over Shavlik. Now the Spurs will probably get him.

For what's it worth, heard Steve Nash was in Phoenix yesterday speaking with FO. I have no idea why.

it would be awesome if he was positioning himself for the future and enquiring about an assistant coach or front office position.

Nash hates LA and doesn't want to raise his kids there.

He was very popular in Phoenix and his kids are still here.

He probably wants to line up a front office position.

Nash and his kids both live in LA and he's planning on selling his home in Phoenix. He only said he didn't want his kids raised there so that his ex-wife wouldn't move to LA and he wouldn't have to pay California child support payments.

Also should be noted the LA fans aren't exactly happy to have Nash. Read their board. It's post after post of Nash hate. Nash and LA were polar opposites to begin with.

I'm assuming you guys are talking about this new Grantland piece on your private sub-board. 8-)

I would do Nash and Randle for Bledsoe. I know some of you want more but at this point I would be happy with just randle. Nash would be in the deal to make salaries match. I just want Bledsoe gone.

Also to address the booing of Bledsoe. I am not a booing type of person at games. But I sure the hell wouldn't support or cheer for him. I would be happy just to see his as$ sit on the bench. He isn't invested in phx or the suns organization (he doesn't want to be with the suns/phx and could care less about long term success of the suns). So I have no reason to have any investment in him. The only thing Bledsoe has investment in is Bledsoe. So no I'm not going to support him. The smart thing to do is invest in the players that are going to be in the suns long term plans which means reducing bledsoe's minutes.

Not interested at all. Last year the idiots at Grantland were proposing that Dragic be traded to OKC for a bunch of their unwanteds and trash. No need to pay any attention to this.

Cool. S/T would be awesome. However that would mean that the Lakers are actively shopping as they would have to give permission.

I just noticed that and was going to post it here.

That article is great if your a bucks fan. But from the suns prospective the bucks aren't offering "true" assets so this isn't really worth talking about.

Basically some guy talking about (a dream he had, literally) how great it would be for the bucks to get Bledsoe. Yet can't offer a decent package that benefits the suns. The door swings both ways.

Nothing to see here. But hey, paulpressey feel free to continue to post unless blogs/articles. They give is all a chuckle.

At this point I don't see us getting much more than the Bucks unprotected first out of this.

But what does Nash talking to our FO have anything to do with the Bledsoe situation? Also, Nash was talking with them at the arena. Maybe just visiting? I don't know.

Since that's the deadline, does this mean they won't talk to us before that day?
To me, that seems like they won't negotiate. Max or nothing.

Doubt LAL would do it but if we could snag Randle and Nash for Bledsoe, I'd be all for it. Maybe Kobe would ask them to do it for the sake of winning. With Randle having a poor summer league from what I heard, maybe he won't have the patience.

I don't know about the FO, but the fans would definitely not be for that. They really don't want a maxed out injury prone Bledsoe 4-5 years older than their core, especially if they had to give up a first round pick that didn't have full lotto protection. They'd prefer another lotto rookie on a rookie contract that fit in with their young team.
