Well I've left law school! Big choice and it worried me over the last few months but I feel really confident about this decision. I've got about a month of vacation now in Honolulu. Anyone have suggestions about what to do? Other than my hobby of training for ninja warrior I don't have that much on the schedule.

Left it for good or like a winter break or something? I only ask since you mentioned the month of vacation time.

Re: OT - Media - Movies, TV, Music, Books, Gaming
I am checking in. I’ve moved back into my townhouse in Los Angeles!
Something fun - I studied the Classics (Ancient Greek and Latin) for the longest time. The Ancient Greeks believed the mentally ill were divine or had connections to the gods that others did not. Mania/psychosis was viewed as a "possession" of sorts, which was revered by the very religious Greeks. Look into Pythia (the Oracle of Delphi) if you are more interested. Greeks would come from all over the Mediterranean to hear her prophecies. There are several theories as to how she prophesized - whether it was schizophrenia/mania or drug induced etc.

I rarely watch any TV series but recently I started watching Doctor Who and I'm at 4th series now (of those modern episodes). Any fans?

A ton...it's probably the biggest cult show out there. But I don't know anyone who watches it. You might ask on the Media Lounge, but I haven't seen anyone talk about it.

Sorry didn't respond earler, but what are your thoughts on it?
I honestly think the show is terrific. Writing is outstanding (just like BB) for it and acting by Bob Odenkirk deserves awards imo.

I think it's great. I love Kim Wexler's character. She should win an emmy for this year.

She’s great. I’m interested to know how her character will end in BCS. I know at the end of BB, Saul tells his assistant (same one from BCS) to call a certain lawyer and say that “Jimmy sent ya” if she needs any legal help. I wonder if that lawyer will be Kim.
Next season may be the final season for BCS so that’s a bit of a bummer.

It seems while we were discussing it during the season people felt they were way behind when Breaking Bad started, so it could have a few more seasons, but who knows? Doesn't seem like a ton happened this past season, even though it was high quality..

Can’t say I disagree with him. I don’t think meds are a real long term solution. But short term I definitely needed to get grounded to reality at times. Nutrition/diet/exercise, sleep, meditation/spirituality, all the boring things are part of the real solution.
(and sobriety for me)
Have any of you came across the Icarus Project? Don’t know how the site is today, but the story of Icarus is a good fit.

Finally got around to watching Hereditary.... Jesus I need a palette cleanser now! So good but holy sh*t.
New Black Mirror movie on the other hand.... couldn't finish it. The choose your own adventure movie was not my thing. Story didn't feel very compelling, so the choices just felt asinine or over the top. Having to go back if you choose wrong was kind of a dumb choice for them to make in my opinion.

Funny I was just thinking of watching Bandersnatch. On my roku it said it would make the decisions for me and once I heard it goes back if you make the wrong decisions, then I thought "what's the point of choosing?" but then I was also told there are alternate endings and only a few parts have a necessary choice to move the story forward. The main person that said it was good that I talked to was someone who had never seen Black Mirror.
Hereditary wasn't my favorite. I usually don't see many horrors, and don't get scared in them, and I heard that was so scary I had to see it just to see. There were only a couple scenes I found really scary and one was just shocking and horrific...though some of them made me laugh.
Toni Collette was awesome in it though.
I've seen a bunch of stuff...saw Bumblebee which was actually pretty good...had only seen one of those movies but was shocked with the RT rating so thought I'd see it. Had some heart and was entertaining. People who grew up in the 80s might really like it because of the music....SO many 80s songs...probably enough for a couple of soundtracks.
Saw Aquaman which I thought was very entertaining, better than I expected and the visuals underwater in 3D were great...I would highly recommend seeing it in 3D if you see it.
I've seen a bunch of stuff though. I think my favorite of the year so far is Bad Times at the El Royale which may hit video soon. Star is Born was good. A Simple Favor was a good mystery and dark comedy and Widows was pretty good.
I still need to see most of the oscar hyped movies though. And Green Book is supposed to be a fan favorite.

Watched Bandersnatch. Pretty much went through all the endings. It was fun concept and I think there is something there but right now it's still not interactive enough for it to be that exciting. But I'm not sure if I want it to be interactive
Question I have is, at what point does interactivity turn a film into a video game where every action is controlled ?
