I mean..Love has a pretty nice resumé if you're looking for a big numbers "star" while preserving your tank job lol.

driving home - after listening to Gambo talk about stick ball, stoop ball and MLB not appealing to the younger crown and than 15 minutes on the Cardinals and free agent pass rushers - they finally got to the Suns - and Gambo "didn't think Tucker would get traded."

Which tells me - PJ, you gone. I am sure there are teams willing to trade for Tucker. OKC would probably dump Augustin/McGary or a team like Toronto - Scola/Delon Wright. So, am surprised the Suns wouldn't try to go younger and strike with PJ. As PJ is a perfect guy at the deadline to get. Granted, this summer, his contract is only worth about half next year - so there is that too.

 You must have started your drive at 5pm. You forgot about JC too. I missed the Suns. I got out of the car at 5:30 and I heard nothing about the Suns trade so I figured nothing was going to happen because Gambo was absolutely quiet......getting ready to eat his words.

Just looked at the standings. Lakers are 3 games up in the reverse win column. They are at 11 and we are at 14. I think we are going to end up 3rd worst, when all is said and done. Hope the lottery balls see it our way.

Love is not the player I would trade for if I am the Suns but if I had to choose between Love versus Knight/Markieff, I would rather have Love. But I would much rather have the Nets pick from the Celtics. It would be amazing if the Suns could acquire that pick without giving up Booker, Warren, Len, or Goodwin.

Boston would have to be on drugs if they traded the pick before the lottery, not going to happen.

I meant for the Suns to get it as part of a three way trade of Love to Boston, Knight/Markieff to Cleveland, and the Nets pick plus expiring contracts/fillers to Phoenix.

Picking third is obviously not ideal, but I'm starting to warm up to the thought of Kris Dunn next to Booker. That would be a huge, versatile pair of guards.

Granted, we'd have to move one of Bledsoe/Knight this offseason, but it kind of seems like we're going to have to do that anyway.

For the record, I'm not a huge fan of Love. But if he could be gotten by trading Morris/Tucker and the Suns two first rounders, I'm considering it.

This upcoming draft may only be two (potential future all-star) players deep. Even Simmon's stock is dropping. He was "the next Magic Johnson" early, now not so much. Suns could easily end up with the 3rd pick...Bender? Yikes!

It would be a tough call, but I'd consider the deal I put up earlier- http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=haw85gt

Well if they're trying to get Love it means they're looking to compete in the next couple years so they may be more willing to give up that pick. You can only rebuild for so long. Happened when they got their big 3 together, Ainge traded their 5th pick (I think) for Allen b/c they were ready to go for it. Also, the Lebrons would find less value in a #1 pick vs winning now. So any team that jumps in to facilitate a deal may be able to make off with that pick if it nets Boston Love and gets enough talent to CLE.

Exactly. Plus the Suns could send a pick or picks back to the Celtics, Cavs, or both of them if the trade requires it. Suns could return the Cavs pick they own to them and a future protected first to the Celtics.

Ok, I understand Booker is an amazing shooter and incredibly smart for his age.

And based on that, he has potential to be a very good player, maybe even an All-Star appearance.
A true bright star for the franchise moving forward.
Although his defense is amongst the worst in the team, but due to his IQ, there is hope he can become a decent team defender down the line.

With that said...

He is clearly a tier below real potential franchise players like Towns and even Porzingis.
Who has elite size, elite athleticism for their position, semi-star level talent and skills already at their age.

Some fans need to realize that Booker may not be the savior that some are expecting him to be. Very important piece yes, but main guy? Suns are still searching for him.

So this up coming draft, potentially 2 players can be that 1st option franchise player. Suns seriously need to see this.

What I'm getting at is... Suns have the pieces to build a proper future team (Knight, Bledsoe etc) either by trading them for young studs/picks or move them for a proper existing franchise player.

There are a lot of people here that want to dump Knight for anything (not me), but I don't think our front office would have any interest in something like that, unless the pick is pretty high

Agreed (assuming your'e talking about the Detroit 1st). Cap space has less value to the Suns nowadays since we're less of a draw to top tier free agents, so the expiring contract isn't especially appealing. That being said, it might be appealing to Sarver to not have to pay Knight's salary since I believe we're well above the minimum team salary.

Fifth with Sixer's getting third and fourth.
I have faith we'll get a solid player this summer.

The Book is going to be very good. Maybe not a super-star, but definitely at Tier 1 all-star. Not a Curry, but the kid really, really has promise. He will be (is?) better than Klay and not many here expected that... It is exciting as a Suns fan to have a charismatic player with potential. I haven't been this excited about a player since Amare's rookie year. Great draft for the Suns!
