They are all great. In 2005-6 in college. Not so much anymore. Not right for a young team.

The first thing he said was that the Suns are absolutely open to trading the pick and would be willing to trade down to the 7, 8, 9, or 10 slot if they can get back a good young veteran player plus the pick in return for their own pick. Now assuming the Suns keep the pick, he said the Suns are narrowing down their choices and he believes they will choose between Bender and Jamal Murray. The really shocking thing he said was that the Suns are also now considering Buddy Hield because Booker has actually grown since they drafted him and he is now 6'7" in shoes. So the Suns think they could have Booker play some small forward alongside Hield and Bledsoe in the backcourt. He mentioned the Suns are looking at picking their power forward with the 13th pick and want to pick a guard/wing player with the 4th pick unless it is Bender who they take. Also, Bender and Murray are supposed to work out for the Suns next week.

Thanks, got in the car and the only thing I heard was Harrison Barnes was a target. I missed the entire talk  I was in the car this AM for hours and nothing but the Cardinals, even around 1:30 our time  Glad we finally got some solid info.

If we can play Booker at the 3 :o and Hield at the 2 :D

The bold is exactly what I said we should do..........damn right I am tooting

Edit:what if we draft Bender at 4, the what at 13?

If you ever miss what they say on the radio, you can listen to it later. They put up the shows from the radio online very soon after each hour is over with a synopsis of each hour. http://arizonasports.com/arizona-sports-podcasts/

Is there a max you would pay him or would you just offer him the max?

If harrison barnes can play SF then so can booker...at the least in small ball lineups. If we get bender how would barnes fit in between bender and booker? Whos going to create shots when we need one? Joe Johnson used to kind of be in the same spot HB is but JJ could always put it on the floor. I dont see that from Barnes and so far all Ive really seen from him is camping on the 3pt line. Can anyone that watches him more than i do give insight?

I think Barnes is a good player. However, the only way the Suns could convince Barnes to leave the Warriors and come to a team like the Suns is to offer a max contract. I do not think Barnes is close to a max player.

Okay this idea is absolutely insane but I am going to say it anyway. If the Cavs lose the finals, no one knows what Lebron is going to do. The Warriors appear to be so much better than every other team that it is not even fair. One way to potentially beat them is to create another super team ala the 2011 Miami Heat. Klutch sports represents Bledsoe and Watson. In addition, Watson played with Durant. The Suns should trade Knight, let Tucker go, and do whatever they need to with cap holds to create enough cap space to sign Lebron and Durant. Then the Suns have Bledsoe, Booker, Durant, Lebron, and Chandler, with Len, Warren, Goodwin, their new picks, and whoever else off the bench. That team should have a chance to win the championship.

All of the guys you mentioned have a better chance then Lyles and the #12. At least I know Brown or Murray or Dunn or Hield have a chance. I am not feeling the trade for someone elses role player and add a pick that you hope is a rotation player.

What if....Dunn's game translate you can't say it wont. The same goes for the other guys, you have know idea, yet you are like lets not try. I am not with that. Brown and Dunn are elite athletes Hield and Murray are elite shooter....Lyles, C'mon man.

Lyles was in the same boat as Booker who was a little less heralded than Towns and WCS last year, and they went 12 and 13. He has shown GREAT things much like Booker has. I mean heck, he shot 38.3% from 3 vs Booker's 34.3%. And it wasn't like he was on far less volume. Per 36 Booker shot 4.9 3s and Lyles shot 3.3 of them. Is Booker a role player?

My guess is Lyles would be ahead of Murray, Hield, Brown, and Dunn and all the PFs after Bender this year and you would be hoping he was the 1 or 2 option you are hoping these others are. I'm not sure what you expect a guy to do when he plays behind Favors.

Wow!

Tried it on the trade forum and it looks like there is no way Utah would go for it anyway....or at least their fans wouldn't be for it.

Agree!

Yes, it would be nice and I am sure we will give such ideas our best effort, but neither are likely to go anywhere. Plus I hope our FO doesn't waste their time chasing un-obtainable guys while losing out on others.

They need to target under the radar guys who are suffering on the bench and haven't gotten a chance, like the Booker's of other teams who didn't play much because their team didn't have injuries.

McD has failed the last two offseasons but I don't think that should stop him from trying honestly. I would prefer him go after the best players rather than shoot for mediocre garbage who are only looking for a fat paycheck. I don't want the Suns to chase any free agents this offseason unless he's Lebron James / Kevin Durant.

Not to be that guy but wouldn't it be more likely they would just swap Irving for Bledsoe and then sign Durant themselves by moving Kevin Love to Boston for #3 to free up space? Then they take Murray and roll with Bledsoe-Murray-Durant-LBJ-Frye/Moz

Suns with Kyrie-Booker-Warren-Bender-Chandler/Len

Obviously I don't want him to go for mediocre garbage, but find diamonds in the rough. Barnes is the guy that fits your description.

I feel like diamonds in the rough wouldn't command max type money though. I'd prefer maybe a Will Barton / Jae Crowder kind of player but I'm not sure any free agent fits that description.

I would not hate Stephenson at the right price. He is tough and a good perimeter bulldog. For us to compete, we will need three of them. All preferably with height and reach.

Also, Stephenson has a little crazy in him, and championship teams often do. Just don't pass it to him until there are only 5 seconds left on the clock that will limit how much he dribbles.

He does a lot of spotting up, yes. He gets more aggressive when Curry and/or Thompson goes out. Hes also a pretty good weapon as a screener when teams wanna switch the PnR on Curry, so Barnes ends up with a small guard on him, and he does a good job taking advantage. He is able to switch on defense and check the 2, 3, as well as most 4s and some 1s who arent stupid fast like Westbrook and such. He takes the challenge on D against bigger players, and holds his own. Hes also pretty cold blooded in the clutch, which is nice.

No, hes not a creator like JJ, but hes got the athleticism and touch to attack a closeout and make something happen.
