I bought a house with her, she was going to move in after the wedding. She was the only one there for me when my mom died earlier this year. Now Im alone in the house, my friends are far away and I have no family here anymore. I'm not sure what to do.

Put all your efforts into work and yourself. Maybe join a basketball team if you play, there should be a bunch of rec type stuff for you to join. I'm sure you'll make friends.

It will definitely be tough, but there are tons of good guys here to vent through. They might not be there in the flesh, but still good to talk to.

Does she own part of the house? Will you have to sell it because of the breakup? Man, tough times ahead, but stay strong, it will get better.

You know what I usually do when life gives me lemons?

Hit the gym. Hard. Just go nuts and work out like crazy. Eat clean, get huge, and the pure satisfaction of seeing your gains will help heal the wounds and also build up the ego.

That's the best thing you could do for yourself right now.

She's going to take her name off the mortgage. I don't want to live here though. This house was where we were going to have a family, now as I'm here alone I really only have bad thoughts.

I totally agree with this. You never have to worry about your dog walking out, or getting mad, or anything.

If you can't sell it because you'd lose too much money, look into renting it out. Where are you living now (state)?

Maybe after a year or two of renting it out, life might be quite different and that investment might be something you will want, and the past won't hinder you.

Agreed - dogs are great for company and mood elevation! In fact there are plenty of days when I'd rather spend time playing with or walking the dog than hanging out with real people...

Sorry to hear about that Amaretotheline, hope things improve. Take the time to re-establish yourself, and you'll eventually find someone else - don't force that part, it will come when you least expect it. The end of a serious relationship always hurts, but what it eventually means is that it just wasn't meant to be your "final" partner. As for friends, someone suggested basketball which is good, I've also heard the "meetup" groups online as well as reddit meetups and stuff like that can be very successful though I haven't personally tried.
