Anyone think we have a deal to move Knight already in place? Maybe a team like Philly or Brooklyn? Maybe for a 2nd rounder or something?
He seems to have become distant to team related things. I never hear him saying anything Suns related.

If it is true, Knight is done in Phoenix. :D

I thought that was clear from that short-handed day late in the season when Brandon refused to play? There was a lot of spinning from the front office and Knight's camp but that crossed an uncrossable line IMO. Remember, at that point there had been no discussion about sitting Brandon for the season. His unwillingness to play when needed was an even more egregious mis-step than Pippen's refusal to re-enter the game when he found out he was to be the decoy for Kukic. And Knight is no Pippen.

I thought he had back spasms or something.

Yeah, that was the "spinning" I was talking about. All we heard was about how hard he was working, what great shape he was in and then, when the team asked him to suit up for a game, this excuse was invented. Actually I think it was invented a day or two later, either way it lacked believablity IMO. And that conclusion is supported by the fact we never asked him again despite being shorthanded at his position.

No. Not until after free agency when teams go after who they actually want. But even then I doubt a team wants to clog up their cap space for 3 years with a contract like that. Brooklyn has quite a few guards and now Philly seems set but I think they want to go after big names and then they have a Embiid extension or deal coming next summer.

If we were able to get something for him we'd likely have to take back another awful contract. If anyone wants him the least bit, we'd have to give up something. I mean the Lakers had to give away Russell just to get rid of Mozgov.

I don't care about the Lakers pick. What's done is done. But if we have to give up an asset to move Knight I will be beyond irate.

Getting regular playing time after the Suns shut down Tyson Chandler, Williams averaged 17.6 points and 14.8 rebounds per 36 minutes in his second NBA season. He's one of the league's best rebounders and a surprisingly effective shot-blocker at 6-foot-8.

Don't be surprised if Williams forces his way into more playing time next season

Williams is OK, but he doesnt protect the rim and is not going to be running with the rest in transition... he is ideal as backup when the fast tempo team is resting.

Suns / Nuggets

Bledsoe + Warren
for
Mudiay + Chandler + 2018 Pick lottery protected (Unprotected 2019)

Why for Suns?

Position-less basketball
Wilson Chandler can play SG, SF and PF.... BOTH sides of the court. Mudiay has the size and athleticism to play PG, SG and still very young.

Nuggets get two 15+ ppg scorers in Bledsoe and Warren who they will sign to a big contract that the Suns most likely wont due to Suns have Chriss, Booker, Bender etc that needs to be kept long term.

Move back Knight to starting role and raise his value until deadline... then shop him.

Suns
C: Chandler / Len / Williams
PF: Chriss / Bender / Dudley / Chandler
SF: Jackson / Chandler / Dudley
SG: Booker / Chandler / Mudiay
PG: Knight / Mudiay / Ulis

I have not heard anything specific. Gambo just states "he will not be back" - so other than the one trade I mentioned, for Shumpert. And I only think of that as the Cavs need bench scoring.

Brooklyn, Suns would probably have to take back a bit of salary but they declined the option on KJ Daniels so maybe they would want Knight for nothing or a small contract like Acy or something.

The Rockets have Ryan Anderson - but that deal is horrible - but I am sure they would love to get rid of it - but the Suns better not do that

even if Suns acquired Lebron for Dudley, putting Knight as the starting PG would result in a net negative trade value lol

Knight with starting role was putting up decent numbers... its when he was paired with the bench and Barbosa as backcourt is when he met his match.. 2 blackholes cannot exists.

Maybe we could trade him for Asik. He might be more worthless but he saves us money and is only guaranteed $3M in the final year (same year as Knights - 19/20)
