Yeah, I can't see Goran doing this as long as the offer is in the ballpark of what he wants.

I think McD is working the phones looking for a trade at the moment.

But really...we never know. Nobody thought Nash would ask to go to the Lakers either.

Regarding Dragic... We'll see.

But for him to even have a shot at anything close to 14 million a year, he'd pretty much need to come close to his last season's performance. He can't put up 15/6 and think he will get a near max contract. I'm not saying he will regress but it's a possibility especially if Bledsoe returns.

And loyalty is a touchy word.

Dirk Nowitski, Tim Duncan, Ginobili etc are rare breeds... These guys are company men who are championship players. Staying and retiring on their championship led teams affect their place in basketball history and legacy... A pride thing. I don't think Dragic is on the same field... But we'll see next season.

I do agree that he wouldn't pout on the media... Maybe in his native Language to Slovenian media but not U.S.

I like Goran but IMO he quit on us when it looked like he was never going to get his chance to start. He's a great guy but he isn't perfect, he lost his passion to play because Nash was still going strong and it cost us. Bledsoe's comment is disturbing but IMO he's less of a whatever you were going to call him and more like the second coming of Antonio McDyess. They were both a bit withdrawn and neither of them were very bright; they were both led astray by unprincipled third parties too. Maybe it's that Alabama connection that breeds gullibility and dulled senses? If you're from Alabama, I'm just kidding - otherwise I'm dead serious. :D

in hindsight, he really did us a favor on that one, while completely sabotaging the lakers.

Here is the problem - Rich Paul should have been working for Bledsoe on July 1 first and foremost and not LeBron. The LeBron James deal was easy - it was called "The Max." But Bledsoe needed work; needed to create a market

Suns are doing nothing wrong. The market for Bledsoe is clearly not 5/80; at most its 4 years and some figure under $63m

Bledsoe needs to come off the 5 years and he needs to get in the 50's range.

If not, I say call the Lakers - see if they are interested in Nash, Randle and the Rockets pick for Bledsoe (and the two Minney seconds because I feel good) and call it a day.

Bledsoe has zero leverage. I don't think the Suns should lower their offer - but they could start doing that

IF he really doesn't want to be a Sun - call the Lakers ; call the Bucks

The problem with a trade is that there really isn't a trade out there that makes sense. Point guards are not in high demand right now, and I just can't think of anyone that someone would trade us that would make sense for both teams.

Does anyone know the answer to these questions: If Bledsoe accepts the qualifying offer, can he still be traded immediately? Like can they sign and trade him for the qualifying offer? And if they can, does his new team still have his Bird rights when he becomes an unrestricted free agent?

Bledsoe's agent, his health, and the general state of the market are to blame, not the Suns. Someone has to make Eric understand this.

I think Mr. Lacava might be re-wording what Bledsoe actually said. It's basically the same thing but the wording from the link makes it seem like all Bledsoe is saying is that he understands what the Suns are doing and not that he is necessarily pissed off about it. Things will work themselves out one way or another. Whether it's him signing the offer on the table or a sign and trade happens. We just need to stop stressing about the situation. Either we will get all star level play from him for at least another year or McDonough picks up some nice assets in return. Either way this team is going in the right direction and it's nice to have FO that knows how to play the game and aren't just going to give in.

That quote, outta context, does not mean there is bad blood.

Who was the guy here who said he handles business negotiations? Please sir swoop in and repeat that post.

Breathe into a paper bag everybody and PM me before you burn yer Bledsoe jersey so I can make an offer to buy it (and don't get so sensitive if I negotiate with you)

What's that? You didn't buy a Bledsoe jersey? Because he was only here for a year and you weren't sure if he was in your team's long-term plans? Oh OK that's perfectly REASONABLE

from the link:

"but it'd be nice if the two sides could get something fair done"

Offering Bledsoe a Lowry contract for 1/2 a year of Lowry performance was MORE than fair.

Eric Bledsoe & #Suns still far apart: "I can understand the Suns are using the restricted FA against me."
2:52 PM - 26 Jul 2014

He is still looking at it like the suns are against him (I blame his agent for putting untrue/unrealistic thoughts in his head). They are offering what the market set. Young player + inexperienced agent= drama. The inexperience of his agent is hurting him more than helping me.

Wondering what the word "fair" means to Bledsoe and his agent? 80 million?

Kyle Burger of WVTM-TV added that the point guard was calm and prepared for the question, and that he started off his answer by saying "he'd let his agent handle it."

Well there you go.

Just do a S&T for Bledsoe.
Suns get Kevin Love and Kevin Martin and the Wolves get Bledsoe/Morris bros/Lakers 1st, Suns 1st, and their draft picks back.

I can see this happening 8-)

Return to Phoenix Suns
