Oh man that tweet is not good. (Bender)

But when you read the whole statement; he has a point.

“I don’t understand how the draft always works. You take all these European guys that play three minutes a game overseas, but right here you see Tyler playing on the biggest stage in college basketball and he’s performing. But I’m glad it happened how it did. We get to be teammates again.” Booker said Ulis “shouldn’t have been there” for the 34th pick back in June, but that just makes him “the steal of the draft.”

Devin couldn't agree with you more. You just don't draft overseas in the lottery.

Well, those guys don't get picked just for their league performances. Scouts are watching international games, camps or other organizations.

Booker has a true shooter's jumpshot. It's very high arching, he's got excellent footwork and elbow is tight.

IDK if this article has been posted already, but I'm going to put him here because it's really interesting.
Ever envision yourself going into that Ring?

“Definitely,” he answers, without hesitation. “I love it in Phoenix and I want to be one of those guys that gets drafted by one team and stays there the whole time. You know, they turn around the franchise, and they get love for that in that city like they’re the mayor…People still wear Steve Nash jerseys here. That’s definitely something I want to be.”

That's definitely good to see though. It would be nice to see all our rookie flourish together and stick together on our team long term.

Devin seems like a kid who wears his heart on his sleeve and has a lot of pride. Seeing him remain in touch with Kentucky even though he was really only there for a year, and his loyalty and connection with the other players he played with and guys like Ulis, makes me think he really could be that type of guy. I'd love for him to spend the rest of his career in Phoenix if he continues to develop and carry himself the way he has.

Hoping Booker continues to develop. I'd love to see him work closely with PJ on his defensive skills. He's got the physical attributes to be a great defender. He's already got the making of a versatile offensive player. If he can throw in at least decent defensive ability then he could be a great building block for us.

Re: 2016-17 Phoenix Suns Preseason Thread

http://arizonasports.com/story/853437/suns-devin-booker-wants-to-spend-more-time-at-the-free-throw-line/

“I put on a lot of weight this year so I’m using my body a lot more,” Booker said when he was asked if getting to the free throw line was a point of emphasis for him. “People know about me so they’re going to be more aggressive with me this year. It’s getting involved that way, if my shot’s not falling getting points at the line will get me going.”

“Obviously when he (Kobe Bryant) was younger he was more athletic, more explosive,” Booker said in explaining what he’s tried to pick up from the future Hall-of-Famer. “When he got older he was more like me, a little bit slower, a lot of defenders a lot faster. You gotta use tricks, use your footwork, use their aggressiveness against them.”

“I use their aggressiveness against them,” Booker said. “If it’s a pump fake, if it’s driving the middle pump fake, jump into ’em. Usually the refs see the second contact so once you hit ’em first they try to retaliate and they call the foul on them. There’s a bunch of little tricks that you learn.”

“He knows in order to take his game to the next level it should be seven to 10 times per game, he understands that,” Watson said about Booker increasing his time at the free throw line. “He drives good enough. He’s fearless attacking the basket. And the more that he can do that for us, it’s really efficient for us.”
