Would rather get Skal later in the draft than blow #4 on Chriss. I think they are pretty even when it comes to upside and potential, but with Skal being a much better defender/rebounder. They both are going to take years to develop, so i would rather go for the guy with the better all-around game.

Im in this mindset. That rebounding rate for Chriss is miserable for a big man. Absolutely miserable, and rebounding is something that is supposed to translate well from college to the pros.

Bender, Brown, or trade the pick is my preference. However I wouldnt be too upset if we took Chriss is opposed to the outrage I would be in if we took that bust Murray

He was Lebron / Penny lite... A proper tall do it all PG.

Bender is no way near it... Absolutely no way near young Diaw....

Man I hope we don't take Chriss. He screams super bust to me. Just watching his videos, he doesn't finish with contact, something Amare was able to do with relative ease. He seems soft, doesn't have the power in power forward. If we are trying to make him a SF then maybe he's a good pick, but then again we got Warren there.
I'd prefer Bender, but if he really finished that terrible in his workouts then trade the damn pick for a sure thing in Okafor. If Okafor doesn't fit our scheme, then trade him later, he's likely to retain high value throughout his rookie contract.

How many times out of 10 does Chriss become a 18 / 8 type player?

That's basically the risk reward.

People say these sorts of things in hindsight. Diaw went #22 in the draft, IIRC, and was considered a bust in ATL before we traded for him.

Bender total of 0.8 assists per game if you're comparing passing bigs.

on very limited minutes and different role, as noted by Mike Schmitz on his vídeo breakdown. He can pass, it´s notable.

It's funny the polls never seem to reflect the board discussion, spent all week in the Marquese Chriss fanclub, but only 2 people want him.

I think the potential reward is higher than 18/8 type of player. IMO he has the tools to be a 20 ppg scorer + 3-point shooting + shot blocking and ability to switch screens. The question is, will he ever become that player?

That would be an All-Star, so I'd be happy if the chances were about 1 in 3.

Not sure what it is in reality.

I trust McD's selection here. I think the optimal scenario is us taking Murray at 4, trading Knight, and selecting Sabonis. Moving #13 and Knight for Gay and #8 would allow us to take Sabonis. But if McD thinks Chriss or Bender can put it all together, I have no problem with the pick - especially if its Bender. I simply have a lot more faith that Sabonis will be a starting PF in this league, a reliable and efficient double-double machine.

Report that Boston #3 for Okafor could be close.

Why do the 76ers want Dunn, they have two ball handlers who cant shoot as their pick 1 and 3.

I see him being at best maybe Markieff Morris clone with more leaping ability. 15/7 in four years.

Sabonis a legit NBA starting PF? Boy, i'd like to see that.

My guessing is they see both players (Simmons & Dunn) having elite athleticism and length to play phenomenal defense.

I would not take Sabonis at 8. I'm hesitant about taking him at 13. I'd much rather Davis or Skal over Sabonis at that spot.

Also, I believe Booker had a bad workout for us last year and we still wound up taking him. You don't base your decision off of 1 workout. These GM's have enough information to make an informed decision. If Bender is there at 4, we shouldn't pass him up for one supposed bad workout.

Tim Welsh (Celtics reporter) says Dragan Bender was "awful" in his workout in front of NBA teams overseas, said no team that was there was impressed.

Yeah, posted earlier. Good news for us if the Celtics like him. If he looks "awful" to McD I'm sure he'll pass. But of course this could all be bogus as well.

Better at that age. Diaw was late first round practice. Good comp with more length and better perimeter defense. They both pass well and can hit 3s. Bender better shot blocker too.
