If there was any way possible to get these guys, I'd give up anyone / any pick on our team except Booker.
Cousins, George, and Booker would be a team that players would want to come play for.

I don't think that's likely. One of the reasons Cousins might be interested us is due to Bledsoe. If he's not among the untouchables I don't see any chance DeMarcus would be interested in staying here.

With the rumor that the pacers are looking to move their 2017 first to get a guy who will help.
I wonder what we may have that could get that pick. I know Tucker alone may not sound like enough, but I feel we're a good partner for them in some form or fashion.

Maybe Barbosa, didnt he play for them for like a year?

I just dont see how a Pacers trade could work without a 3rd team.

We want a 1st for Tucker. He could help them, but i dont think its enough in the Pacers mind. So now you are adding a 2nd a player (Barbosa or whatnot). Now we are no longer getting the 1st we want for Tucker, we are undercutting the value on him that we have set. You also have to match the salary's, so we would have to take on somebody, and more than likely they wont be any good. All this for a 1st thats currently projected to be the 18th pick, but could be even worse if the Pacers do get the help that they need and start winning more games.

So does Tucker/Barbosa for a late 1st/crap player of matching salary seem like a good deal? Not really in my eyes, so now im looking for that 3rd team to come in and make it right for all sides.

Anyone else notice the chemistry between KAT and Booker last night in the rising stars challenge? They kept looking for and hitting each other with passes. It's really far fetched, but it would be interesting to make a play for KAT with our basket of goodies.

Knight, Chriss, Bender, Warren Len, PHX #1, MIA #1 for KAT, Pek, Hill, Bazz

It will never happen, but it would be interesting.

Bledsoe/ Ulis/ Price
Booker/ Barbosa
Tucker/ Bazz/ Jones Jr.
KAT/ Dudley/ Hill
Chandler/ Williams

Losing the prospects would hurt, but that is a team I would enjoy watching. Versatility across multiple positions. Bledsoe, KAT, Booker become "Big" three. Needs more defense but what else is new.

MIN goes with

Rubio/ Dunn/ Jones
LaVine/ Knight/ Rush
Wiggins/ Warren/ Bender
Chriss/ Dieng/ Bjelica
Len/ Aldrich

+ two high picks

A little redundant at a couple of positions, but absolutely chock full of potential top to bottom.

If anything, we need to find a deal with Portland.

They currently hold 3 1st round picks in this draft. The 10th, 22nd, and 28th as of right now. They are also only 2 games away from being the 8th seed.

Also, another idea that i had was Chandler/Tucker to OKC for Kanter/1st (#19).

Kanter is out with arm injury, and OKC has lost 6 of their last 10 games. Tucker is way better than their current starting SF Roberson, and Chandler is pretty much just a more battle tested veteran version of Addams, so it doesnt really matter who starts, when one comes out, the other goes in almost seamlessly.

The deal pretty much works out as Kanter for Chandler and Tucker for the 1st, and im ok with that.

Regarding the Blazers, they made a trade last week and I think they are done making deals. Those three picks are gonna be more valuable just before the draft...they can pack them ( like us in the last draft) and get an early pick or a good player.

Kanter is a good offensive player, but he is really bad on defense. I do not want to trade for him, I prefer Okafor over him because his salary and upside...and I do not even like Okafor at all.

I'm ok with it. Kanter has one more year at $17.5M then a player option which he probably declines. You may steer clear of this deal if you want to improve on defense though. Those of you oppsed to Okafor on a rookie deal would really hate Kanter at $17M.

If we can find either draft picks or players between 19 and 27 that fit within the core of our group that we think will be able to add to what we’re doing stylistically, we’ll look at that.

We’re still below the salary cap. We have about $13 million to $14 million in cap space. We’re still 3 to 4 million below the salary floor, even, so we have the option and potential to take on more money in a contract, especially an expiring contract, if it’s incentivized with a draft pick or young player. We’ll look at those opportunities as well.

Great article.

McDonough has been clearer with his strategy recently.

Exactly. Also, KAT has said repeatedly that he doesn't plan on playing in the NBA all that long. Some dream of med school. He might be a guy who retires earlier than expected. I'm not saying that would prevent me from trading for him, but it would suck to build your franchise around a guy who retires at like 30.

I somehow hope it would be for Payton even though that is probably lopsided. Hezonja would be interesting but he sucks so far. Gordon won't happen.

I just don't see what we gain by that. If we're going to get rid of him without gaining anything positive, at least wait till the offseason so he can continue to help us in our quest for a quality draft pick.

lol, really? You are going to use his 3 point attempts? Why didnt you use his 3 point percentage? Maybe because it was down to 34%. And lets look at Kidds stats that Championship year. 8 Points (36%FG/34%3PT), 8 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and almost 2 steals a game. So lets not act like his Hall-of-fame status was due to his late play, and not due solely to his first 10+ years in the league. If Bledsoe or any Suns PG had that average we would be down his throat, begging the team to dump him. Hell, last season Knight was putting up 20 points (41%FG/34%3PT), 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and around a steal and a half a game (and that was also playing next to another PG). Knight also lead us with an AMAZING 6.8 3-PT ATTEMPTS on a very very slightly better % than Kidd did!

Look, my beef is with Ball. I just dont see a playmaking PG that cant shoot as being a viable option in the league today. He is of the Rubio/Rondo mold, and those 2 are probably the most established Playmaking PG's currently in the league (Besides Wall).

Are you trying to say that Jason Kidd, who demonstrated late career willingness to alter his game to the new style, wouldn't do that if he were a collegiate athlete coming into today's NBA?

And the attempts was to demonstrate an alteration in style. The majority of his FG attempts were 3s in Dallas, a guy who was used to scoring inside the arc for 13 seasons. You seem to be painting him as an anomaly of an era who wouldn't be capable of adapting play-style when he demonstrated it as an old-timer.

And Ball can shoot. He's shooting very well in fact. You want % to be the deciding factor, Ball is shooting 43% from 3 and 70% from 2. As long as he can knock down an open shot, a feat Rubio has never been able to do, he will be a damn good NBA player.

Exactly. Ball doesn't have a pretty shot, but it is a quick release and accurate. He is an offensive dynamo. He can pass really well, elevate well, and shoot. Question is whether he is quick enough (he is quick, but NBA PGs today are more explosive than I have seen from him), can add muscle, and whether he can develop defensively. There's no question to me in the NBA that he will shoot with range and run a team damn well.

The criticism that he can't shoot just isn't true. He shoots quite a bit and hits at a high rate. He's actually much higher on the year than Fultz (but I really attribute this to personnel and coaching since Fultz has to go 1 on 5 most of the time).

Instant superstar.
