Mavs are getting the Clippers for sure now. If they know what's good for them they'll rest everybody tomorrow.

As of Wednesday morning, Portland has played 73 games, Memphis and Suns 72. All three teams play 1 more game on Thursday.

As I understand it, the 8th and 9th seeded team will play each other for entry to playoffs. The 8th seed teams needs to only win once, while the 9th seem teams needs to win twice.

What am I missing? Portland gets to play 1 more game than Memphis and Suns, and then has the advantage of being 8th seed?
I know I am missing something. Please help! lol"

Is this a thing? The blazers are gonna get to play one more game than the suns and grizz? If so, what was the NBA reasoning on this?

Thanks!

It's by win %. So, while true, it sucks they had more games to get more wins, if the Suns or Griz win (spurs too i think) and blazers lose, the blazers would have a slightly lower sin %

It is a bit of a weird situation. Hard to know if more games is an advantage given you could have easily lost that game too.

That said, I don't know why the NBA didn't make it so every team just ended on the same amount of games played. I guess maybe it couldnt' be achieved with the 22 teams in the bubble or something.

Me too! So basically if we win then we're in the play-in unless both the Blazers and Grizzlies also win. So that's pretty close to controlling our own destiny. As a wise man once said, LET'S GOOOOOO!

ESPN has Kris Middleton on the injury report for tomorrow's game as well. That's too bad

ESPN is always late changing injury reports. He will be active and hopefully playing.

So basically we have to win, and one of portland or memphis has to lose.
Not terribly good chances, but hey, i never thought we'd be here.

In my mind, playoffs or not , this has been awesome. Even if we get into the playoffs, the chances of beating LA are slim, although I'd love to take a chance on them as they don't seem that great at the moment.

But the most important thing was having this moment the team is having. They are relevant again. Booker has proven the doubters wrong. He's now an established NBA star. We've seen that the team has great potential with this young core (finally). We have a coach. We've improved by at LEAST 14 GAMES compared to last season.

What's not to love?

I think if they knew how well this would all go, they would have invited other teams and either got to an even number of games for everyone, or perhaps even finish out the regular season.

Let's hope they learn from their mistakes and fix it for next season. Play in games are too important to pass up and less tanking will occur.

Seeing as Memphis is inexperienced, I'd like to think that if the game is close, they may not be able to pull through. If they do, it's Morant and him becoming a star.

I'm pretty surprised we're favored by so much. Is anyone from Dallas sitting?

While we obviously need Memphis or Portland to lose, this Dallas game may be our toughest yet since we played the clippers or the pacers. Hope the team is focused on this game and not on scoreboard watching

I believe tonight will end well for us.

Milw is a championship contender, their guys will not lay down or take a night off. Hopefully they have a next man up approach, and Middleton (I've heard both that he's on the injury report and playing? What?) plays.

Dame (as whiny and coddled by the refs as he is) is a crafty veteran and a top player in this league. Mad respect for what he's done the past couple games. But it's gotta have a limit, right? Some of his guys an off-night? I guess you could say the same for us...

But I still think we're taking this tonight. The stars have already been aligned to get us here, we've proved ourselves out there after a decade of loserdom and morons running the front office. No more.

Players OUT for the Bucks:

Giannis, George Hill, Wesley Mathews and Ilyasova.

I think an starting five with Bledsoe, Dante, Middleton, Marvin and Lopez is enough to win the game. They have good bench players like Robin Lopez and Korver too.

And Frank Mason is a backup PG that I really like. He played pretty well in their last game.

What your team has done has been pretty amazing. Most teams wouldn't have even tried in your spot, these guys played their hearts out and defied all the odds. I'm rooting for you guys tonight.

I wonder why so many people are betting on the Grizzlies. Is there more inside info we don't know about? Even with Giannis and Matthews out, it doesn't seem like they would lose.

It must mean Budenholzer only plans to play the starters a half or something. It seems in some earlier games they all had like 15-20 minutes and then sat...kind of like we did in the scrimmage ones....but I could be remembering that wrong.
