Re: Booker news and highlights
Watching his highlights against the Sixers I realize that he scored five left-handed layups, some of them really difficult to execute.
I mean...FIVE left-handed shots on the same game. He is unbelievable skilled.

Re: Booker news and highlights
Booker is great during stretches of the season and not so great during others. He's on an ASG mission right now, so fun to watch.
Still room for improvement when it comes to team play though. Trying to beat a double team instead of passing the ball is just one example.

did all the top teams in the East suck so bad last week that they had to give the award to a Piston?

I mean, by that point he was just in a zone. Him taking it to the hole was just as likely to result in a score than kicking it out.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe it's just me but it seems to bring Booker's achievement down a notch when the respective guy on the ECF is a rookie who averaged 18/5 on an 8-19 team. That being said, he was quite good in the Nets and Celtics games

yeah...takes the excitement out of the whole thing. Guess they couldn't give it to Giannis for going 1-3 this week or Embiid for going 1-2.

How many guards do they take in the final team?

Probably as many as they can, which I guess is 6. They have 3 voted in frontcourt starters and 2 backcourt starters. Then you have the coaches pick 3 frontcourt backups and 2 guard backups, and then they get 2 more at any position...I assume both will be guards.
Now I am unsure if AD gets voted in by the coaches as a backup guy, if his replacement has to be a frontcourt player. If he is picked, and Silver can replace with a guard, that would make it 7...but that doesn't seem right, since that would be 7 players for the 2 guard spots and only 5 for the 3 frontcourt spots.
Starters are Curry, Luka, LeBron, Kawhi and Jokic. Lillard and George are in for sure. Donovan Mitchell and Gobert are probably in. So that's 4 guards and 5 frontcourt. So from there you have 2 more guards and probably 1 frontcourt. Booker is probably in.
So that leaves 2 more spots...1 guard and 1 frontcourt guy. I think Paul should be in. Maybe more than Booker but they are close. Those are the guards and forwards Aldridge had, and he had Zion.
He gave honorable mentions to Murray, Wall and Conley. No mention of DeRozan who is averaging like 20/7/5 on over 60% TS% on a Spurs team doing well. He averages like 7 apg with only like 1.6 turnovers per game. I was surprised looking at his numbers. He seems deserving but I don't know who you'd leave out if he gets picked. He doesn't get talked about.
I think Kellan Olson tweeted that Booker was 5th in guard voting..so I wonder who was 4th. It could be Paul. Or Mitchell..but then you have Murray and DeRozan, or even Morant and Fox...though I doubt it's one of them. Probably Paul or Mitchell.
But given Olson tweeted that out, it seems the coaches rankings should be listed somewhere and if they are you could probably pretty much figure out the reserves.

Lowe Post podcast just said they'd choose Paul over Booker if they were to choose a sun in the team. I still think Booker makes it over Paul if we get one.

It's close. Paul is probably slightly more deserving but it will depend on whether or not they think Booker finally deserves the recognition as they've been voting in Paul for years. But then again, the Suns have been a joke for years and now we are 5th in the west with Paul, so they might have that influence their voting. Of course both could get in too.
