Yeah. MIP is largely a stats award. Unless Ayton averages significantly more rebounds and blocks this season, I find it hard to see him winning.

Agreed. MIP is almost exclusively won by guys who have increased their scoring output, turning them from role player/bench player to a starter/star. No one has won it without a healthy increase in PPG and DA just won't have that opportunity. I also don't think anyone has won it on the back of being a defensive juggernaut
