LMAO thinking about Thibs trying/wanting to coach IT and Green. You guys do remember him (Thibs) right ?
You can't put a bow on a bucket of s*** and call it a present. No f-n way Chicago pulls that string.

So. Is IT overpaid? Funny how all the media types and fans talked about what a great deal the Suns got when they signed him last summer. Looks like the GM's around the league knew him. Fans and media just tend to look at numbers.

So we've moved on from DMC to the equally unattainable Jo? That guy IS Chicago. No matter what we see his trade value as, it'll be nowhere near what Chicago see it as, and rightly so.

I think he's paid appropriately. He would be a starter on a lot of teams but here it just isn't always meshing.

Re: Official Trade Thread: New Year, New Thread, New Laughs
Noah's biggest problem this year is Gasol, not injuries or some radical decline. Nevertheless, wouldn't even consider this trade - we have Len, and he needs minutes to actually adapt to NBA in full (still much trouble with foul per minute ratio).
Surely, Thomas/Green/Plumlee package for something does make perfect sense.

Re: Official Trade Thread: New Year, New Thread, New Laughs
Why would any team want both IT and Green ? There is a reason why one has to go, and it is directly related to the other.
Green is easier to trade...may be goes to the East for a second? ....somebody wants IT, they can get a much cheaper version in NateRob for 1/5 the price.
This is all on the assumption that the ChuckWagon has been stabled.
Neither will be happy with less than half the minutes they were getting.

Re: Official Trade Thread: New Year, New Thread, New Laughs
My vision (under the situation that Thomas, Green and Plumlee are traded off)
Suns need to treat Dragic and Bledsoe like how Pistons treat Drummond and Monroe.
Basically, both are starters, play 6-7 minutes together first quarter.
One subs off, the other stays to finish off the quarter.
During this time one of Ennis or Goodwin gets burn, tell them to defend and follow Xs and Os, get the ball to Kieff, Len if possible.
2nd quarter, the one who subbed-off first jumps in, the other subs off. Ennis or Goodwin continue to get some burn.
Whether the team is up or down, let the players on the court execute, give the ball to who ever is being the most effective.
3rd and 4th quarter, depending on how the team is doing, play Dragic and Bledsoe together.
So both will end up playing 34-36 minutes (about 28 minutes together).
This way the team develops but also are FORCED to play through proper plays, Xs and Os, Len and Kieff get touches and proper plays for them.
Right now, I'm pretty sure Hornacek is only coaching 25% of his capacity, he's just letting the PGs or Green or Kieff do their thing Xs and Os be damned.

Yes.
But thats assuming Plumlee, Green and Thomas have an arranged trade in place.
If not, just TOO MANY scorers with 1 ball.. and little defensive focus.

Re: Official Trade Thread: New Year, New Thread, New Laughs
^Yes. Amare would be the perfect PF in our system. Well... old Amare. Today's Amare isn't that bad actually, and I think if he split time with Kieff he could have good production.
We still need to trade one of our two chuckers. I'd prefer if it were IT because we have Ennis as a suitable backup, but if it were Green instead I wouldn't mind. Someone mentioned earlier Green for Dudley, and I sure would like some Duds back. He is at least capable of playing team basketball and maybe he'll rub off on others. We desperately need some stabilization off the bench. I don't see why the Bucks don't do this deal as they get an expiring, lol. (Add a 2nd rounder coming from the Bucks

Re: Official Trade Thread: New Year, New Thread, New Laughs
A Len/Wright/Kieff/Stoudemire PF/C rotation would be deepest in the league.
Wright and Amare playing 18 minutes a game together would be a great bench combo.
But as I mentioned, both Thomas and Green as well as Plumlee SHOULD be traded before that lineup can happen effectively.
Dragic and Bledsoe would up their production back to last year as in 17/6 each and that's fine for the back court.

Re: Official Trade Thread: New Year, New Thread, New Laughs
Suns get-
JJ Redick
Hedo Turkoglu (immediately waived)
Chris Douglas-Roberts (waived too)
Clippers get-
Isaiah Thomas
Gerald Green
Clippers insert Green in their starting lineup, and CP3 can throw even more lobs. Suns get a true quality shooter with high basketball IQ. Who says no?

I would make that Dudley for Green trade in a second.

I like this trade, but I think that Redick has a ton of value around the league (he is like a younger Korver and is playing every year better).
Redick or Afflalo could be great next to Bledsoe or Dragic.

Perhaps someone could explain how our undesirable combination of IT and Green will work well enough somewhere else to actually receive some value.
Stop it. Just be happy moving one, because it just might be good to keep the other

Agreed
After seeing the big improvements Len has made, I'm OK with Amare if he gets bought out. Although, like you said, those 3 guys have to go before we have ball movement to incorporate Amare in our offense.

I'd assume the team we trade them to would have another deal in place to flip one of them.

Well in my proposed deal Green would be starting on the Clippers, and since the ball is mostly in CP3's hands he'll have to play off the ball and won't need to create his own shot. Green isn't so bad in catch and shoot situations, it's when he puts the ball on the floor where the trouble starts. IT playing in the reserve role would be ideal for the Clips as Jordan Farmar is possibly the worst backup in the league.
The Clippers have remained essentially the same over the last couple years yet they don't go very far in the playoffs, so perhaps they want to tweak their roster a bit. Adding two scorers might help. They grabbed Spencer Hawes over the offseason but just looking at his numbers he hasn't performed very well.
Clearly for the Suns it could be one of those addition by subtraction trades, as well as adding one of the purest shooters in the NBA.
