If we can't hit the late lottery jackpot with turner or kaminsky, We have to be smart and secure a high end sharpshooter like hunter, or booker.
Then in the 2nd round, I say we trade up if need be to take dakari johnson.
I know his shooting isn't on par with z-randolphs' , but his bruising inside power game is. And he's a big strong 7 footer. He'd be phenomenal next to len, as they both develop together.
If we play our cards right, and draft cleverly, Then we could essentially have very athletic mismatches all over the floor.

I think begging Bogdan or whatever his name is to come over early would work. He looks ready and more talented than Goodrich.

I really think we have to select Tyler Harvey if he's there in the 2nd. Too much upside as a scorer.

One of Kaminsky, Turner, Portis and WCS will be there at 13, and that should be who the Suns pick, I will rank them
Turner
Kaminsky
Portis
WCS
For Phoenix.

If somehow WCS falls to 13 we have to nab him immediately. I live in Lexington and he reminds me a lot of Noah. Not gonna score 20 points a game, but he will be an elite defender/shot blocker and he can guard positions 1-4. Obviously you don't want him guarding a 1 or 2 that often but pick and roll situations at the end of the shot clock he can easily switch onto the pg or sg no questions asked. He will bring Noah like enthusiasm and hustle as well. If he somehow falls I absolutely love him at 13. And he is much more athletic then Noah so the upside is higher. In my opinion he is a can't miss

Noah is a passionate player with terrific IQ and passing skills, or he was, he is also stronger and far more physical than WCS.
WCS is Dalembert, McGee, Andersen, not terrible, but a back-up, if Portis, Kaminsky or Turner are there and you get Willie before them… that is a major mistake.

I agree. I would bet that WCS will not be a Top 10 pick in the draft. Too many limitations in his game and one of the older players to be selected in the first round.

Rakeem Christmas met with the Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic today.

I like him at #44, he has improved a lot this last year. He is old, but he can be a great third string center for some years...better than Barron for sure.

For my part, I think that given the opportunity, any team that passes on stein at 13 or later will deeply regret it as he develops. That's just my call. His defensive potential, and mobility is through the roof. Additionally, his basketball i.q. is underrated as well. Think prime tyson chandler when he reaches his ceiling.
Call me on it if I am wrong. Having said that, I still insist that we need to secure either hunter, or booker as our floor spreading shooters, preferably in that sequential order. And absolutely take a flyer on dakari johnson in the 2nd round.
At worst, he is a poor man's zach randolph. But we could do alot worse for our front court.

With Bogdan waiting in the wings, I think the need for a young shooter is not particularly pressing. Another vet shooter would be nice - hopefully Granger can play some for us next year. Maybe Bullock will be able to contribute. Maybe Archie continues to improve.
Some eye-popping things from the measurements yesterday. Kaminsky's a T-Rex. He's nearly 7-feet, but with those arms, he's more like 6-10 or maybe even 6-9. And on the opposite end of the spectrum is Looney, who is 6-8, but more like 6-10 with those arms: his standing reach is higher than Kaminsky's. And since a lot of that length is arms, he has a lower base. Should help him on the glass. Then you look at his release on his jumper - very high. I'm switching my pick from Bobby P to Kevon. He won't play for a year, as he needs to spend a ton of time in the weight room, but he's my pick as of now (it changes every few days).
Speaking of Bobby P - his measurables were very, very similar to Lyles's. I get confused as to why Lyles is rated so highly by some. I've got Looney ahead of both of them now, and he should be available at 13.

I think we'd take him with the third pick if we somehow won it and he was there (unless Towns was).

I would take Porzingis if we had the chance but this ride seems so similar to Darko's a dozen years ago.

Duke guard Quinn Cook will be in for a workout with the Phoenix Suns.
Phoenix talked with virtually every Point Guard prospect at the Combine.

I really want a veteran PG behind Bledsoe and Knight. Someone with experience that can make work the offensive schemes. ..but a rookie PG? If he is not a great great prospect I would say no, thanks.
