We're going (thanks to a good friend being nice enough to take us)- Eric Bledsoe is supposed to make an appearance and they'll be giving out prizes etc so I might as well

Well it sounds better than sitting on the couch with a beer lol I got 2 tickets so I think I'll roll through with a friend

Their last post was a month ago. Chances are their opinions have changed. At that point, most of us were gaga over him too :)

I'm still not sold on Bender. It's hard to get excited about using #4 pick on a guy who most likely will never average more than 15 points per game.

You know what is even harder picking a player at 4 who will be a bench player for as long as he is on the team. Guys like Hield and Murray would be bench players behind Booker. Since both of them lack the size to play other other spots and are not good distributors they would be limited to maybe 18 minutes a game at max.

But if that guy averages 14 ppg, 8rpg, 5apg, 1 steal and 1 block with solid all around defense? Remember that he has a high motor, great feel for the game and he is a serious and professional very young player.

Where is the Sun's draft party being held? Is it open to the general public?

Thanks for the info.

Yeah, when I read "ok athletically" I think that is selling him short.

Did we ever work out Murray or Hield? I know Hield was in LA but do you know if we went to see him?

Hield said he worked out for the Suns, and Murray said he had a workout scheduled but I haven't heard if it actually happened.

Also, as a 4, if he can be a perimeter threat and draw opposing PF's away from the paint this completely changes the type of plays this team can run. To be seen as a perimeter threat Bender will need to be able to hit 3's at 38+% on high volume (5+ attempts per game). If he can do that, plus have good switch defense on guards or wings, plus have a good touch around the basket, plus be a great passer then I love drafting him. I haven't seen him play, just video clips, but from what I've read he has the ability to be good at the things I outlined above.

Or, he could be a complete bust and waste of a number 4 pick.

I trust McD to make a good decision on draft day.

It's at the Sheraton, I think it's a private party though. There was a contest for free season tickets and some other stuff that was also a drawing for the private draft party I believe, not positive though.

Meh. That's not much better than Keef. And there were only 3 7-footers in the history to average 5 assists per game: Wilt, KAJ and Divac. I don't think Bender is joining this club.

Yeah, but Markieff's motor and intensity has been always below average. That's one strength of Bender....and well, and he is not the headcase that Markieff is...that is a big difference.

So you just want a scorer? I know you like Murray but that's really all he does. Then there is Chriss, and I don't think you can peg any sort of scoring upside with him. Not that you really can with Bender either. I'd just like someone who can play defense and has length and can switch and guard out on the perimeter as well. I think Chriss COULD get there and be really good, but I think Bender probably will be better at that with his length.

Yeah, that character is completely opposite, and Bender has a very good chance to be a much better defender. I had thought gaspar liked Kieff too, but Bender has far more upside.

Yeah, we went to see Hield in LA and we had a private workout with Murray...but unannounced and closed.
