Wow...I know that is not great competition but 22 assists? With that shooting?

How high is this guy gonna go? I mean would you take him at 4? 2?

If he continues this type of stuff as a freshman and you passed on him and he became the next Curry...not good.

I think this draft we need to really focus on players that clearly have demonstrated they have skills that will easily translate.

I would take Young at 4 or 5 and not think twice. I worry that we might be picking 5 and Ryan would see home town kid Bagley on the board and drool at all the potential. Lets just get some guys who know how to play now. Trae fits that and fills a huge need.

Last time we drafted a shooter, he turned into Devin Booket.

The suns wanted curry badly. We had a handshake deal with them that they backed out of on draft day as most of you know. I don't think they would pass on trae year if they had the chance.

Different front office. Based on the history of this front office, we've used high draft picks on very young and raw players with developing skills. Bamba fits that profile.

Still waiting to see what Young looks like when the defense affects his game it can be scary taking an undersized guard that high once you see him shoot 38% for a stretch, Sexton was as popular as Young 2 weeks ago now he's hardly mentioned.

Yeah definitely not good competition but 22 assists is obviously impressive. It's only been 10 games, but he's been extremely impressive in every one of them. I'm excited to see how this level of play holds up in conference play, the Big 12 is looking solid this year. If Doncic, Ayton, Bagley, and Porter are off the board there could definitely be an argument for him to be our pick.

I also think part of the attraction to Young is everyone Sun fan's love of point guards that put up high assist numbers, while a lot of people aren't as big of fans of scoring point guards like Sexton. Alabama also didn't play in 10 days, and he had a decent game against Mercer tonight.

I think I may try and get tickets to see Young when he comes to Austin to play against Bamba.

Probably the best test we'll see for him as far as how well he'll be able to finish around the rim in the NBA

Very impressed with his Point Guard IQ in those highlights super composed.

And still made his long range 3s and finished smartly at the rim.

Can he keep this up? It would be possibly the best freshman season in history.

I'm trying really hard to not be a prisoner of the moment and over hype trae. Right now he's my 3rd favorite prospect for the suns next summer.
When was the last time a freshman guard came in and played as well as Trae has? He's clearly playing better than the point guards from last year so far.

Sexton had 21 and 4, keeps getting to the line (9-9 FT) and has a higher FTA rate than any NBA player.

I'd have to say the vast difference in passing ability is the difference for Young.

Young has been impressive. The ranking will shift a lot from now until the draft the but Suns are fortunate that guys like him and Sexton are playing well because it makes this draft look nice and deep in the middle of the lottery so even if the worst case scenario breaks and the suns land like 7th they should have some good talent left on the board.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

What is the argument for taking any other college player ahead of Trae? Ayton looks like a safe pick. Porter's athleticism and skills are so enticing?

It is 1. Doncic 2. Ayton 3. Young for me. If we can't get Doncic or Ayton we should select Trae even if we have the 3rd pick.
