Nobody took use of keeping less than 7 this year. Not shocking, but there are definitely some borderline players whom I would not have been inclined to keep.

Had a lot of fun plugging in my keepers. Forgot how strong my team was. Gonna be a good year for me with a very talented and fun team.

Draft starts on the 11th?

Officially on the clock on the 11th but there is nothing really keeping anyone from making picks once I let everyone know the keepers are all confirmed on yahoo.

Also, for my trade with Perkins it was my 2nd second round pick that I was giving up. That's why I specified #28 in the original trade post....

Can you change that please? Thanks

Me: #3/Tari Eason/Mark Williams/#28 (2nd round pick)
Perkins: #8/Ja/Thomas Bryant/(5th round pick)

My team is young and provided Ja doesn't get banned for life, I can deal with him being gone for a few.......(hope he isn't gone for life lol)

Why would anyone keep less than 7 if we get 7 and still get our pick?

It's not so much about "why would anyone keep 7" but rather "why shouldn't it be an option", since it confers no advantages but to any team in a rebuilding scenario where they have less than 7 desirable players. And those kinds of teams would generally need all the help they can get.

The choice is 7 or 8 keepers. As far as I know, there is no benefit to keeping less than 7 players.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

My keepers are set in Yahoo, but I haven't put them in the spreadsheet yet. I'm waffling between two players for my 7th spot.

Yeah I'm reserving the right to change my keepers until the last minute. Want to watch a few more preseason games.

If your team is bad enough, the option to keep less than 7 is there. You get your players instantly during the draft.

And we've had some pretty bad teams in this league certainly in the past. One of the best examples I can give was Kerrsed's team when he left, which put us in a weird spot going into the draft which was just about ready to go. Bw and I had some fun brainstorming what to do with the team which is a whole nother story but anyway we started talking about hypothetically what would the keepers be and it was really hard for us to come up with 7 keepers on that team as it was when Terovibe inherited it.

That's all it is. Doesn't hurt teams up top and gives the slightest boost if you're in dire straits.

So you're making Terrovibe keep less players than anyone else in order to secure Wemby?

This is very simple. If you have less than 7 desirable players you can just keep less than 7 and get extra (non tradable) picks at the end of the draft so you access to some available players slightly quicker.

That's the rule. Moving on now. Nothing more to discuss.

This was not clear at all based on what you were saying, and really doesn't seem like an advantage in any way, shape, or form.

Yeah that a fine rule.

It's funny I play in a fantasy football where you keep 4 players. We have an owner who just never keeps 4 even though theres no advantage to doing. No idea why.

Yeah that wasn't clear at all and no context was given for that. I don't recall this rule being brought up before either. There certainly isn't a reason to not keep a 7th player over what would effectively be a waiver wire pickup though unless you just don't want to use a pick on potential.

He should be getting them today. Dmd him yesterday. Let's just hold off on the picks for now.
