Lol yea that's not anything at all, almost entirely speculation. Nothing different than what we do here.

Not bad.
I dont know what Denver would gain with this trade though.

Blazers have 15 guys on their roster. Don't think they would want 18. Rather than looking for who you want, perhaps you flip the coin and look who we can get.

Seems like an overpay for Gibson. I've always looked at Taj as a Thib's system guy. He fits perfectly in a hard defensive oriented system where he has a very defined role coming off the bench. He could be a potential disaster in the free flowing chuck-fest we engage in every game. I don't see in any way how he would be very good on this team since the offensive oriented Suns are polar opposites of the defensive oriented Bulls. As an undersized PF he doesn't have a good enough skill set to automatically be successful in any system he would land in.

Taj is a hustle guy. He is not a game changer. I haven't looked at Taj rebounds per game and points per game but I'm willing to bet they are pretty close to keiffs. Keiff is probably putting up better numbers this year. And overall keiff is a more "skilled" power forward.

Basically to me Taj is what a really good team has coming off the bench. He isn't starter worthy. Just my opinion.

Taj would be nice here splitting minutes with Kieff. I wouldn't do a swap for them. Maybe Plumlee/Thomas/Green/picks but I want to keep our current 4 best players in Bledsoe, Dragic, Len and Kieff.

Taj is a really good defender. And he isn't bad rebounding wise, it's just that with both Pau and Noah in the middle there isn't many rebounds for others to grab.

He wouldn't be a star or anything but he can get the job done on the defensive end. Offensively, he's capable of knocking down wide open jumpers like the ones Dragic and Bledsoe set up for guys like Kieff and Tucker.

I wouldn't trade Kieff for him but Gibson with Kieff would be an amazing small ball lineup for Hornacek to toy with.

agreed. Taj is hustle, and to me is sort of like Kemneth Faried in this regard. Not particularly skilled, but not bad either. Plus at something like $8 million I would say not interested.

Exactly. And remember as soon as gasol got there, Bulls quickly threw Taj to the bench without hesitation. Taj is exactly the player you want coming into the game off your bench. He is NoT starter material.

With that said IT and Plumlee is fair value for for Taj. He isn't worth giving up lottery draft picks or even multiple picks for.

Sure I would love a Taj type forward on the Suns but hell to the no with Taj starting. That just screams average team to me.

Oh, and stats show that kind of thing too - not that I've looked for that particular attribute, confident as I am that the stats will back me up.

I agree with this. IT isn't some sort of shutdown defender but he doesn't get abused nearly as much as he should be considering his height. He also gives a lot more offensively than he gives up defensively. Considering defense at the PG position is likely the least important, it's not really a problem that's accentuated because of his height.

If true, Suns should jump on this imo. Harris has star potential, great athleticism and size for his position and the go to scorer that we need.

Now Harris would be worth taking a chance on, for sure.

He's not on our roster, so that means he's infinitely better than Kieff

I swear, we just want different names on our roster, regardless of fit.

If Tobias Harris is available, I think he's a good target. I don't get a lot of the other trades that get thrown around.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Have you read/heard of one call for IT ????

There is a reason for that.

I was just going to say that. Very few teams (if any) are interested in Thomas. He has very low value right now. IT isn't going to net much of anything. Which sucks.

If we could find a way to get Tobias Harris and Taj Gibson, we should do it IMO. The obvious problem is that Harris is an UFA and could leave for nothing but trading for him increases the odds of him signing with us in FA, and most importantly we can offer pieces we don't necessarily need so it is low risk/high reward, plus it increases our odds of making the playoffs dramatically.

The Magic are looking to trade Harris because they know he is leaving Orlando and the Bulls will look at offers for Gibson because he is unhappy.

First, the legal situation involving the Morris twins needs to be resolved before they get traded, as of right now I do not know what will happen.

Suns trade: Marcus, Markieff, Bullock, Plumlee, Bogdanovic, 2nd round pick
Suns receive: Gibson, Harris

Bulls trade: Gibson, McDermott
Bulls receive: Marcus, Markieff, Nogueira

Magic trade:Harris, Frye (To get rid of his contract)
Magic receive: Hayes (Expiring), McDermott, Bogdanovic, Bullock, Hansbrough (Expiring)

Raptors trade: Hayes, Nogueira, Hansbrough
Raptors receive: Frye, Plumlee, Suns 2nd round pick

Thoughts? This leaves the Suns with....

Bledsoe/IT/Ennis
Dragic/Green/Goodwin
Harris/Tucker/Warren
Gibson/Wright/Warren
Len/Wright

Return to Phoenix Suns
