Flip Monroe for Okafor

Okafor off the bench as the backup big w Warren who provide an awesome bench scoring punch.

trade Tyson asap get his contract off the books.

I want to see what we can do with Okafor off the bench.

Why does anyone want anything to do with Okafor? He can't even get any playing time on 76er when their star center is on the IR for the year.

Because as a rookie (When he was actually getting minutes) he was able to put up an efficient 17.5 points, 7 rebounds, an assist and a block. We would be ecstatic if Len could do that.

Yea everyone is so convinced that he he can do that again that the 76ers couldnt even get a 1st round pick for him.

Thats because his "Type of play" is no longer envogue.

He is a presence in the paint/low post. Thats where he does his damage, and he can really do a lot of Damage there. Now a days everyone wants a 3 point shooting big, and that wasnt him. I say wasnt because this offseason he has worked on his 3 point shooting and defense, but things are too far gone in Philly for him to show off any improvements.

Philly's system is all about Defense. Thats not Okafors strong suit. Specially if you are comparing him to other C's that play/played in Philly like Embiid and Noel. I think if you put him in a offensive orientated system like Triano's, he will blossom. He would easily become our 2nd best scorer. If we could get him working on his court vision and passing, i could see him in a Marc Gasol role. Being that much of a threat in the paint (Like Gasol) he draws a double team and that should leave players open at the 3 point line. If he did that, players wouldnt double him all the time and he could become a even bigger threat in the paint going one-on-one. Keeping the defense honest.

I know people have questioned his commitment and "Love of the game", but he was working really hard in the offseason, lost around 30lbs after changing to a vegan diet, and thats pretty big. If he didnt care i dont think he would have taken those steps. I just think he needs a new team willing to give him a chance, and i think he is ready to try to prove people wrong who have been trying to hang that bust label on him.

Haha it was his Freshmen year I believe. His athleticism was crazy even though his body wasn't really developed then! Where did you plays HS hoops?

Ah, yeah, he was fraily wasnt he? I was at the mcclintock christmas tourney when he injured himself, dudes head was at the rim...no lie, wouldnt have beleived it if i hadnt seen it.

Played back in los angeles, but went back and forth as a kid. Played against kevin minifield at camelback and in mexico with Jorge 'coqui' Rochin, from St. Marys. Just mentioning schools you guys went to. Before bayless, frye, bibby , long, you guys had a kid out here names brian fair (south mountain) used to give me fits...killed it at uconn his freshman year and fell of the map.

I actually remember a kid from chapparral named jeff monaco giving bibby and greene fits, not sure what happen to him either.

Would lovee okafor here. I love his style of basketball,the oldschool style.of course everyone want a center who can shoot the 3.but Okafor replaces len, and len ist really a bad shooter, so he is a big upgrade. He can catch the ball inside and have great post moves. Why not gove him a shot. It isnot a risk with only a second rounder. Sometimes i really don't understand our management, wait.... not only sometimes.

Okafor will give us inside scoring what we really need. And we need a third scoring option behind Booker and Warren. And on the defensive end he can't be much worse than our other bigs (despite Bender)

Yeah I wouldn't want to trade for Okafor because his 4th year team option was declined, we would be at disadvantage to resign him in the odd case he really breaks trough once we get him. The team who declined his option (Philly) or the team who trades for him (us) can only sign him to a similar size contract at max which was declined, so he would be an UFA and we could only offer him a little over 5M/year. As unlikely as it seems right now that he would get more in the open market, we lose value in those rare situations he plays great once getting a chance and that seems counterintuitive when taking a flyer on a guy.

How do we get Julius Randle in a Suns uniform? I've been a fan of his since pre-draft and always thought he's a solid piece to move forward with. Only issue is he's due for a new deal and we may need to take back an ugly contract to take him on.
