You're acting like this was the only trade option for us. We could have probably just added to our current roster.

This feels so much like Marion for Shaq.
KD is much better than shaq was at that point. Like not even in the same stratosphere.

Yeah other moves could have been made. Here the thing though, the suns were going to be aggressive with trades over the next year. Those picks were going to be traded, I don't for one second think Ishbia, Jones, Monty or Booker were interested in a slow draft and develop approach using picks in the teens. So personally I'd rather take the big swing with a guy who can be the best player on the floor in a playoff series than say use 2 picks on Russell and a pick on some average starter.

This is a game with only 5 guys on the floor and 1 ball. The best players matter infinitely more than the just good players. That's the nature of this sport.

Yeah, one ball. A lot of these star stacked teams have failed though. 2+2 sometimes equals 3 in basketball. Hopefully it's not the case here.

Brooklyn's blockbuster Kevin trade with Phoenix is not yet official, which could allow Nets to expand this deal. But despite wealth of interest, Brooklyn intends to keep Mikal Bridges beyond the 3 p.m. trade deadline, league sources told @YahooSports.

I was thinking last night that would be interesting if KD didn't pass his physical. We probably wouldn't care though.

Would be very strange if we just let Saric's contract expire. Go get Josh Richardson or Caleb Martin or Justin Holiday or Jae'Sean Tate or Kenrich Williams. Use the 2nds liberally if you have to. Can't just let a contract expire when you are well over the cap.

We need all the depth we can get. Younger players would help. We need to get a good seed for the playoffs too, and KD won't be available till like March.

Time for a break, but appreciate it.

Ayton is my favorite player on Suns now and he just gets **** on non stop here anyways so probably not a good place to be.

Yeah, it does make the board more unbearable than I remember. People can't enjoy a good team. A loss that comes down to one possesion is one person's fault, though only if it's a particular person, even if they have an overall good game.

But no need to stop posting. We don't need the echo chamber. I know many people who like Ayton stopped posting. At least 10 (or they very rarely post)...it would be nice if they posted more.

Thanks but I had a good 20 year run, ill still lurk though

The Oklahoma City Thunder are trading Darius Bazley to the Phoenix Suns for Dario Saric and a second-round pick, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Ah, there it is. Bazley is an interesting pickup. Very inconsistent shot, but a lot of great defensive tools.

Two 2nds for Muscala? Five 2nds for Crowder? Three 2nd for Hachimura?

What next? Seven 2nds for someone?

2nds don't have any value, you can get one at any time. A roster spot usually is too valuable to waste it on a player drafted in the 2nd round.

Like Jokic, Draymond Green, Malcolm Brogdon, Carlos Boozer, Goran Dragic, etc, etc..heck VanVleet and PJ Tucker were undrafted.

If you have a really good scouting department you can find some diamonds in the rough.

Incredibly sad to see Mikal go. That guy worked his ass off and got better every single year. Fixing that little hitch, significantly developing his mid-range, and going from off-ball 3-and-D wing to legitimate playmaker with the ball in his hands. All while putting in the effort on the court to be a DPOY-level defender.

I understand the trade, and I think there's plenty left in KD's tank to justify the cost, but man am I going to hate seeing Mikal in another jersey.

6'8", shooting 40% from 3 this year, seems to be a plus defender. but is this it for us?

I love Saric, but oh my...we have talked about Bazley being a very good option available and here we go!

Bazley as a backup PF is perfect and make us a much more athletic team.
