Monte Morris probably has the best actual PG skills of the remaining options for backup PG.

He's solid and with a strong base, plays with a high IQ feisty edge to his game. Pretty solid pickup.
Collin Gillespie Scores CAREER-HIGH with 36 PTS, 12 AST, 11 REB vs. Raptors 905

He can have the strongest base in the league it does not matter because he too small.
That said, I agree it's a solid pickup. We still need a starter caliber PG

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

Dunn is the one who can facilitate and defend
Give him some free mortgages
Dunn, Booker, Allen, Durant, Nurkic
Beal, O'Neale, Bol, Plumlee
championship

Not a bad guy to kick to the tires on, but I’m not expecting much. He seems like a smart player, but he’s undersized, a poor defender, and not particularly quick or fast to overcome that. Hope we’re able to get a better option, pickings are slim though

I know Ellis is undersized at on 6'1", but his numbers aren't bad when comparing against the other undrafted at his position.

Kings scooped him up. I kinda wanted him on Suns too.
Damn. Oh, well. Saw we picked up a PG though, so maybe it's for the best?

So Ishbia can handout 0% interest mortgages and it doesn't count against cap space?

Kinda wish Ishbia had bought Boston instead of us lol
I wish he bought the Denver Broncos (the team he was initially after) instead of us. He could’ve ruined them and it would’ve been a bonus for me as a Chargers fan.

somebody else I saw today - had like 6 team logos in their bio and one was the Bolts
not sure if missing anybody else
All Bolts fans. FYI - I am bullish on Harbaugh and Hortz - but not sure they make the playoffs this year. That doesn't mean I am down on them - just more they had such a bleep show to recover from - especially Hortiz.
I'm in on this one. Ruining the Broncos? PRICELESS.

Nailed it. Booker and Beal proved to be not ideal full time PGs. They lack the basic PG instinct. Wild people think this team was “Just fine” last year without a PG.
I am such a lucky NBA fan. 8647 My favorite team went from the most greedy and racist owner to the most ego driven dumbass owner in all of sports fdt.

Dude is horrible. He can score on occasion, but plays zero defense! The one thing people do not realize we had with Ayton is someone that can score anywhere inside the 3 pt line and that opened up other players! Plus he can guard 3-5 at perimeter and clog hole! Nurkic cant do any of that
Nurk was one of the better defenders on this team.
Team high in defensive rating, defensive win share, defensive BPM and 4th in defensive field goal differential.
Who cares about DA. He's irrelevant history now
The eye test is a different story.
I think Nurkic plays decent interior defense and he excels in post defense against the likes of Nurkic, Embiid or other similarly large centers but that all changes if he teams hunt him on the PnR and since he gets blown past rather easily he will either foul the player or they will just blow right past him in the paint.
There's a reason why Nurkic sat out late in the 4th because he was so often a defensive liability and teams knew they should attack Nurkic to pick up quick fouls to get into the bonus.
Which I completely agree with. He's a really good defender in the post, on both one on one match ups and at deterring shots at the rim with his size and length. His strengths and weaknesses on defense isn't too dissimilar to traditional Cs like Gobert who has gotten better at guarding out on the perimeter.
My point was to challenge the notion that he plays zero defense which just isn't true. He was one of the anchors of a #13 rated defense in the league (with the defenders we had) and was team high in a handful of advance metrics. He has his exploitable flaws but he also wasn't the sole reason we got swept either. Fundamentally, it was our complete lack of a reliable and sustainable offense that caught us out having scored under 100pts in 2 of the 4 games. Props to Minny for playing great defense as well

It’s not surprising, there’s people that actually believed Ishbia when he said 26 teams in the league would switch positions with the Suns roster and asset wise. Meaning only 3 other teams in the NBA would keep their team over swapping it for the Suns.

Re: The Official 2024 Offseason Thread Part 2
Another year together, more defined roles by a better coach, Beal hopefully not getting an early back injury and then breaking his face. The trio can only get better, but we do need an actual pg off the bench. Beal got better as the season went on. Our entire team disappeared in the playoffs. Book and Durant got limited. The system was non existent. Our role players/shooters (Allen, Gordon and Oneal ), couldn't hit open shots to save thier lives. Let's hope A coach, system and soak time together can matter.
