I'm going to bed. Please don't let me wake up to bad news.

EDIT: Traxxe....are we going to do ANYTHING? Even anything non-Amare related?

Said this before, but at this point the best option is to work on extending him. Just give him the years he wants, and then work on trading him later.

I still don't understand the Sixers reluctance to trade Iguodala and Dalembert now for Amare and JRich if they are trying to cut costs. There was a chance Amare opts out this summer so the savings would be huge.

I still hope a trade gets done but Eff the Heat if they are not offering Beasley for Amare - you watch that game last night and he is a talented player that would help the Heat more then Beasley and two future first round picks. In fact, Riley should have been offering Beasley, Jermaine and two first round picks for Amare, Collins and JRich for THIS season alone.

I still fail to see the logic of dealing Amare to the Cavs so we could then trade for Boozer.

It would have been a three-way, so we would have picked up a 1st rounder and Hickson from the Cavs, and then we would have had Boozer for our replacement for the remainder of the season instead of Ilgauskus, so we likely would have still made the playoffs this year.

i told you all, time after time. no need to panic, Amar'e is staying. no offer out there was worth trading the 5-time allstar.

Thanks for the update, Traxxe. Lots of wasted time put into these rumors that amounted to nothing. See you guys in July when we can do it all again, ugh.

suns need to up the years, maybe negotiate a three year extentions at 15mil. I know amare wants 4 years on top of next years 17 mil. He is 27, and that means his contract is up at 31. not bad.

I hope we can do a move in sending both jrich and barbs out for a SG that can do it all. I think that is what our team is missing.

At this point I'm ready to throw the checkbook at him. I'll give him something that isn't way too far away from max money. We just simply cannot start rebuilding around JJ Hickson or JustALittleBitofCapspace Johnson

Sarvar will gladly take the 16 million expiring heading to the offseason.

Now, the only thing left for Sarvar to do is to buy Amare out, so we could get under the tax..

I'm so tired of all this. Dave Burns on Sports 620 KTAR said it best this morning: most fans just want closure, one way or the other. Now we have to go through this whole circus again.

I was surprised to see he was looking for 14M and they we didn't agree to it, despite the yrs.
Gasol extension was 3 yr/57. He's asking for 4/56M on top of the option. Reasonable.

They need to compromise.

I think they'd have to lock him up longterm before he hits FA. Once that happens he's gone.

So...what now? I'm glad Kerr didn't give in to crap deals, but what is the plan going forward? I still don't think an extension is terribly likely. Even if we do give him one, how do we make the team better? Lopez and Dragic will get better, but their gain will be canceled out by Nash/HIll's decline. Looks like we will just be 6th seed level for a while if we extend Amare and change nothing.

What likely happens now is we're screwed and he walks for nothing this summer. I would be shocked if we end up doing a sign-and-trade in the offseason. I think what's more likely than a sign-and-trade is that he gets extended or some team steps up at the last minute to take Amare today.

If they can't trade him, it's in their best interest to extend him and trade him perhaps after next season.

Thanks, best of luck and I hope you guys are able to keep Wade and we are able to keep Amar'e without them walking!
