Our best approach is to maybe do what Rockets did to get Asik and Lin but heavily back load Chandler's contract offer.

I don't think you can heavily load a contract in the back end unless it's a 2nd round pick (Arenas, Lin, Asik). First round picks will always make more in a max anyway.

Parsons was a second round pick.

I don't think he's worth the max. Can he be the second (or even third) best player on a contender? I think Rockets' system fits him well.

Parsons & Bledsoe are worth 12m-ish. That's about 18% of the salary cap each.

Parsons is worth $8-10M per year, nothing more. He's a high-end role player, not a star. 16.6 ppg in 38 minutes, 15.9 PER, average defense. Batum is a similar player to Parsons and at $11-12M per year he's overpaid IMO.

I'll take Marcus Morris over Parsons. Talent wise they aren't that far but money wise they are. Morris making 4 mil a year sounds better than a 8-10 mil contract for a player just a little better.. Just my opinion.

But I am on Morris brothers bandwagon so my opinion doesn't matter.

You'd say the same thing about Bledsoe if he didn't play for the Suns. "Played well for 30 games and wants max lol" or something along that line.

Edit: meant for G-Flops. I know BH isn't super high on EB.

I doubt parsons gets the full mini max but I do think he'll get over 10m per. All the younger guys like parsons, bledsoe, monroe, and hayward will get big deals because it's only 4 yr contracts and teams get them in the prime yrs of their career. Teams pay for expected future performance; sometimes it works out and sometimes these are the contacts that are getting dumped in 2 yrs. Plus the cap and lux tax line are both rising fairly quickly so spending will be up. Teams have gotten smarter with the cap so there are more teams who have a good amount of cap room. There's more available money than guys who deserve big contracts.

I like parsons and his fit on the suns system well but I would be pretty uncomfortable with the contract it's gonna take to get him.

I'm actually quite high on Bledsoe and his abilities. He has a lot to work on though. I just think max contracts should be for the best of the best players, seeing as how "max contract" inherently implies that.

Agree and true max worthy guys don't become available. Some people around here really like Deng and he's 29 and constantly banged up. He'll get 10+ per year at least. If we're overpaying by 1-2m give me the young buck.

JDiddy, Marcus is here b/c of his bloodlines.

1. Parsons is better than Marcus Morris, I don't think anyone else outside of some suns fans who would think otherwise. Suns are keeping him for Markieff...
Parsons is coveted by a lot other team fans... And I'm one of them.
Assuming he's on a reasonable 7-8 million dollar contract.

2. Parsons vs Hayward, I pick Hayward... Assuming Hayward is paid 9-10 million a year.
He reminds me of a taller Ginobili... Dragic being a shorter defenseless Ginobili.

Parsons will have a contract around €12M per year. Hayward exactly the same or even more.
That is the way the NBA works.

Glad Parsons is a (restricted) free agent, there is lot of SF free agents available right now, and the Suns need one.

I don't like Parsons. For many reasons (some of them quite irrational). How many times people were jumping on Harden's intolerable defense but i just didn't notice so judgmental comments when Parsons was sleeping on court forgetting his men.

Great article by Zach Lowe explaining the Parsons situation.

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/chand ... -dominoes/

Disproving this odd narrative that some media was putting out there that making him a RFA somehow opened up cap space for them (it actually cost them 1.5 m in space). It's kind of ridiculous that 50% of the people paid to write about the NBA have such a terrible understanding of the CBA.

I hope someone max's out Parsons, would be hilarious seeing HOU trying to move their bits and pieces, I'd love to nab Terrence Jones from them for a pick - I'd give up a 1st for him without hesitation, prob #18...

Hearing McD's comment's about how much he values a stretch 4 in our system, I think that counts Greg Monroe out as an option in FA, unless we want to put him at the 5.

Greg Monroe is a center.

If we put Monroe to 5, then Plumlee's and Len's minutes will be very low. And Frye-Monroe frontcourt would suck at the defensive end.

Monroe definitely should be playing center and that's why the pistons will have a tough decision to match since they have Drummond.

I wouldn't want anything to do with him at the money he's going to get. Horrible defender.
