Don't throw things at him. He is fragile. Maybe offer an air conditioned arena.

What's your opinion on what player(s) it would take for LeBron to be happy with Miami and stay there?
Personally I feel they'd need Gortat and some combo of Lowry, Carter, Deng, and Nelson.

Dallas isn't a threat with Dirk's age and Houston getting Lebron would need other teams help. Suns can say "here's a max contract and pick Melo or Bosh". The Rockets can't even offer a max deal even if they move Lin.

Miami is the competition IMO.

Hell, we can even talk to Lebron about Gasol and Gortat.

Lebron - $22M
Gasol - $12M
Gortat - $10M

Bledsoe/Dragic/Lebron/Gasol/Gortat ----- Ennis/Goodwin/Green/Keiff/Plumlee ----- Marcus/Warren/Len

Gasol makes a ton of sense. But I can't see Gortat back in Phoenix.

If Gortat learned that LeBron wanted him to come along to Phoenix with him, he'd have no problem returning. Get paid and play for a ring every year.

Oh, I didn't mean from his perspective. I meant from the locker room/management point of view. I got the impression Gortat didnt mix well with our group of guys.

They'd be hard pressed to afford two of those guys (unless it was Nelson and Carter) or unless Bosh, Wade and Haslem took quite a bit less than a combined $28 million. MAYBE Gortat and Nelson or Carter with their remaining cap space and then Nelson or Carter with the MLE. To get Gortat, Deng or Lowry and someone else with their cap space those guys would have to take less than what they could get on the open market too.

Dallas would be much improved if they snagged Deng. Then try to sign Nelson and they have a formidable lineup to compete in the west.

So much for Toronto preventing teams from getting to talk with him.

JDLAW wrote:Miami still have Bird rights until they are renounced. They will all have cap holds up to the max amount they are permitted to be paid under the CBA or about $22M/yr (rounded off). Once Miami has its act together they will renounce all of the cap holds and resign them - assuming they decide to stay.

The one thing that might throw a monkey wrench into Miami's plans is that James is demanding the maximum he can get (supposedly) That means Bosh and Wade have to take more significant pay cuts if the Heat are going to add any expensive talent. The Heat appear to have about $8M in salary they could not clear off the books and at a $63M limit, if James takes $22M + and there is another $8M it adds up to $30M to fill that roster. Since the Bird exceptions for Bosh and Wade have to be waived to achieve any sort of cap room, adding a modest, $8M free agent (e.g. Lowrey or Gortat) would bring them up to $38M leaving Bosh and Wade to split $25M. That is quite a cut for both of them.

Things are going to be tight in Miami.

Thanks for clearing that up.

@mikejurecki: .ChadFordinsid3r: Sources tell ESPN that the Lakers are interested in Meeting with Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas both are restricted FA's

@ericsports: No idea where all this Kyle Lowry stuff is coming from. I'm told that no deal is in place between Lowry and the Raptors.
