Anyone play NBA2K? I haven't played in a long time, mostly because I enjoy just playing dynasty mode and not the "MyPlayer" mode. Anyway, since the Suns seem to be doing better than expected, I was considering picking it up.

Just looked up the premise of Succession and it looks pretty fun.

Succession is amazing. Some of the best dialog on tv by far. The Watchmen looks like it's heading that way too. A certain character joins in ep 3 that spices things up a lot.

Marathon'd 8 episodes of Succession. Amazing show, kinda surprised me.

Thanks BW for the recommendation

Did you watch the rest? If so, what did you think?

I just started season 2 but I've been so busy haven't managed to watch anymore (NBA season starting and all) but it was really good. I think it's acting a dialogue that was interesting, more so than the characters imo

Oh yeah, the characters are hard to like, especially some of them. Some of them get worse and some redeem themselves a tad but season 2 gets really interesting.

Yeah I thought the characters were a bit generic. The youngest son is a dummy, the daughter is btchy, the father is the patriarch and kids hate the step mom. It's all a little played out. But I do like that the oldest child is like the dumbest and probably funniest.

I kind of like the daughter....she's one of the few I do, but kind of like strong female characters, but she has her faults..not as much as her husband, and the other siblings though.

No I do find her character probably the most interesting but just the way they seem to portray her is a little iffy to me. Like pairing her with a husband who is an extremely weak person...I'm guessing that's for comedy?

Yeah, no way she'd pick a guy like that to marry unless she wanted a pushover, but still doesn't make a ton of sense. He's an idiot.

Watched the Irishman last night. The de-aging needed a little getting used to in the beginning but man it was a **** great film.

It is a marathon though (3.5hrs) but I thought for a film this long, pacing was solid and you fall into the settings, the characters and development pretty quickly. Story was excellent, acting, cinematography, direction was absolutely top notch and it definitely scratches that mobster film itch even though you know the main actors are in their mid-late 70's. I place this at #2 slightly behind Goodfellas only because Goodfellas stood the test of time on its side but I do like the slower pace, less flash and more introspective narrative and main character.

Reading a little bit about the production of the film, apparently Hollywood weren't interested funding a Scorsese/De Niro mobster epic at the $175m budget and only Netflix stood up and gave them the funding to get this greenlit. Good on ya, Netflix

10/10

If anyone wants to get their mind off the Suns for entertainment, go see Knives Out...it's really entertaining.

Guess I forgot to check this thread.
Yeah I played quite a few games before putting it back down. Tried playing it again recently but it just isn't as much fun as it used to be. Definitely not going to buy 2K again.

Me too, after playing 2k for a lot of years, and last of them on competitive proam, I'm done.
In my case is a mix of things, but 2k related, I was tired of the evolution of the game, the patches, gameplay, etc...
I think I'm done playing online in general honestly.

I get that. The only time I play online is with people I know. I've never been much of an online gamer, mainly because FPS is the dominant online gaming genre and I thoroughly suck at shooters. I can be a support and play objectives decently, though the gameplay itself doesn't make the gaming experience fun, the people I'm playing with do. I'm glad that there have been lots of really good single-player and couch co-op games in recent years.

If you're into shooters and have a pc, check out the Master Chief Collection coming out on the 3rd for PC!! It's starting with Halo Reach which is imo, the most casual-friendly game in the Halo series. Don't need a powerful pc to run it because the games are from 2012 and earlier.

I started this last night to try to marathon before the finale but was also on the internet a little because the first episode seemed all over the place. Not sure if they were old flashbacks and if they matter but it just didn't seem to be a show with a strong, compelling opening whatsoever. I just decided I'd go back later. Either this week or could just wait until right before next season at this point. Marathoning one season kind of sucks when you get to the end. I was glad I waited to marathon the first two seasons of Succession.

Definitely recommend Money Heist on Netflix. Brilliant show.
