Yeah, I was just goint to say Thybulle is getting vastly overrated suddenly. You can't play him major minutes in the playoffs. You are not playing him against starting units.

Part of my liking this trade is as I've gotten older I find i just don't care about **** 5-10 years out with the teams I root for. Like I can't even fathom worrying that some teenager drafted in 2028 who might be good in the 2030s. Sports are entertainment and life is short so I'll take some fun in the present even if there risk in the future.

The suns decade of **** also completely broke me on watching or even following a big rebuild. I just can't do it with the bad basketball and getting excited about prospects. If/when they end up back in that situation I'll simply find something else to do.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are trading Darius Bazley to the Phoenix Suns for Dario Saric and a second-round pick, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Bazley shoots 40% from 3’s and averages nearly a block per 15 min of play. He’s a 6’9 F that I believe can play solid defense. Not bad, huh?

The more I digest this, the more I feel like it's a massive overpay. I sort of get vibes of Marion for Shaq and how we all regretted that soon after. I will try and enjoy it now, but it's a bittersweet deal for sure.

I was thinking I feel a bit like I did with the Shaq trade.

A couple things though.

KD is quite a bit better than Shaq was then.

But of course we gave up way more Mikal and Cam are a lot younger than Marion was and we didn't give up picks and now we gave up 5. I imagine that Brooklyn swap in 28 will be swapped. We would get their pick though. But those 27 and 29 picks hurt. I imagine the 28 swap has no protections as well.

This is more like the Barkley trade.

Shaq was having a bad season and couldn't defend a chair...but he was Shaq.

KD is playing exactly like prime KD. Great players have longer careers now.

No, Barkley was younger, and we gave up no picks...the only real player was Hornacek. We gave up far far less...Barkley wasn't KD but he was a top 5 player at the time...and much younger.

I know they are a great franchise and won the title last year (all that matters) but I dont think they get enough crap for drafting wiseman.

Explain how this is done? I suppose if Kyrie says he will leave Dallas, they could take back CP3 and Craig or something to get something out of it.

That's about the only way.

But if we did, it would be awesome from a talent standpoint and we wouldn't drop off the latter half of the decade.

But we'd turn into the Nets and have to deal with Kyrie's shenanigans.

At this point given what it appears we look like 26-29 I'd be happy to take it though.

Dallas wants Ayton to play with Luka, So when it comes to the prospect of Irving telling him he won't resign, They can do a sign n trade swap for Ayton?? But yes, the suns could also look at a similar premise of a Paul/ Irving trade, rather than straight losing him for nothing. Ultimately, It'll be up to Jones to figure out the B's and C's of a potential Irving offseason premise. I would say though that IF the suns truly don't value Ayton as much as they would Irving in the NBA's current climate, and might also seek to Durant's interests as well, then it makes a lot of sense given the Mavs interest in Ayton too! Then the suns would seek a cheaper, more basic center replacement option perhaps?

Thing is though, As uncomfortable as it may be for people to consider this premise, these decisions (beyond mere discussion) are simply not up to us! And now that we have an incredibly important long term piece (franchise 1A star) in Durant, It would only stand to reason that we'd look to placate his interests and keep him happy! And by extension Booker too obviously. So now taking into consideration the fact that Irving is only like Durant's best friend!! Of course he'd have MAJOR INFLUENCE here on acquiring his best friend Irving to his and Booker's new super team!! Lastly you then consider the HUGE gap at point guard with Paul's decline/ departure, and how it seems to perfectly lineup with Irving's impending free agency, and this whole premise seems a lot more legitimate now doesn't it?

well, if I understand it correctly, Warriors rerouted Bey and got 5 2nd round picks back for 2nd pick overall in Wiseman? is it really good?

Bazley is super long and athletic (6'9 with a 7'0 wingspan). Very good rebounder. His 3 ball has been erratic, but you watch him shoot, and you'll see that his mechanics and touch are better than somebody like Craig's and miles better than Okogie. I could see us plugging him as the 5th starter. His minutes had dried up at OKC, but all he needs to do is buy in here as a long term 3&D guy, and he could have a really nice new start. Lots of defensive potential.
