I don't understand. Gasol is Spanish, Dragic is Slovenian, Len is Ukrainian. What does it have to do with race?

I don't like to speak for anyone else but I think the race factor that he's talking about is that none of those guys are black.

Hawes is an adept passer but is not considered a better defender than Frye, whose second wave of improvement in Phoenix came defensively.
Hawes reportedly met this week with Portland, Golden State and the Los Angeles Clippers before Phoenix but also has interest from Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Houston, the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami.
The Los Angeles Times reported that Hawes is seeking a contract averaging $8 million per season.

I think he is an upgrade over Frye, mostly because he is better passer, bigger and younger but I really like Frye's presence in the locker room and his better mobility.

If we have to pay Frye $18M/3 years or Hawes $40M/5 years I would prefer resign Channing. But it is close.

So if they sign Hawes, does that mean Plumlee moves to PF or one of Plumlee and Len is traded?

For the right dollars, Hayward, Parsons, Gasol and Hawes are good players. A guy like Hayward at 24 - like Bledsoe, only going to get better. Parsons as well. Gasol - though close to 34, would add a passing ability and low post scoring threat. Could do a lot worse than any of these guys - black or white.

Sarver spotted in Cleveland speaking to LeBron's reps.

Also, $8m a year is way to much for Hawes.

we gettin lebron bro?

I believe we have the best odds according to the following:

1) Lebron wants max $$ - Phoenix check
2) Lebron wants to play for a team that will contend for a championship - Phoenix (with Lebron) check
3) Lebron would like to play on a team with good chemistry (friends) - Phoenix (with Bledsoe) check
4) Lebron would prefer to play on a team with a good coach and intelligent GM that can insure future success - Phoenix (check)
5) Lebron would like to go to a team that could improve his legendary status - Phoenix is the winningest team that has never won a championship, look at how Barkley is still idolized and he failed in achieving the prize. If Lebron could bring Phoenix their first championship he would be immortalized here in Phoenix - check

Chicago - living in Jordan's shadow + in order to get a max contract in Chicago they would have to scrap some core players.

Huston - playing with Howard (I heard they are not the closest) + in order to get a max contract in Chicago they would have to scrap some core players.

Lakers - Kobe, Kendoll, Nash, no coach - you get the picture

Cleveland - new coach & new GM, owner writes in Comic Sans font, young unproven rookies, crap weather, been there done that.

Miami - aging team with no way to improve, who's window for a championship has closed.

Phoenix - young, fresh, exciting. Management optimistic and still in contact with Rich Paul.

Be patient my friends - I think we will know something this weekend. :P

That is interesting, very interesting. Makes me wonder if that was actually an interview for Sarver. In other words, Lebron clearly has concerns about Robert and his past, perhaps this was way of putting those concerns to rest?

Good question. I would think he replaces Frye at the stretch 4 - but not at 8m - I say pass on Hawes.

It was mentioned somewhere before that Sarver being so outspoken during the lockout really rubbed Lebron and other stars the wrong way.

Hawes is a 5 though not a 4.
He rarely played the 4

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

For 8 million a year, I would shake hawes hand and say "good luck, my guys will walk you to the door."

Hawes for 5-6 a year is a fair deal.

His role is pick and pop man/defend the other teams least offensively talented big. 4 or 5 is immaterial here.
