Keep an eye on the two big guys from NC State... Abu and Anya. They beatDuke, Louisville, and NC...giving their bigs fits. Abu is a legit PF...but the one dude Anya is just huge. 280-285 (he lost 50 lbs too so he is fat-guy strong) 6'9" with a 7'9" albatross-ic span. He has great hands, hits his FTs and is just an unmovable force. plus he's agile too. Not even ranked on the DraftExpress top 100(?) The ultimate BIG sleeper. Watch him if the make the tourney as they(NCST) are bubbling right now. As I said, they dismantled Duke, stifled Louisville and Harrell, and just abused NC. I hope they make it into the dance... but then again, they'll keep under the radar even more so if not.
What ? Me Worry ?

Not me. If anything I'd trade into this draft to get an extra pick or two. We need some bigs and this looks to be the draft to get them. This team doesn't inspire anyone, the fans (those that show up) are bored silly. I'd consider trading (for full value, not a player dump) just about anyone on this roster thereby officially acknowledging the rebuild is a little further away then we had hoped it was. We don't belong in the playoffs, we belong in the lottery.

7'9" wingspan is longer than Rudy Goberts span. It's just not human to have that long of a reach.

Re: Offical Draft Thread: What should we do with the 13/14th pick and 43/44th pick?
As was mentioned, this is a great draft for bigs. If we come out of this draft with another 1st rd PG, I might have to buy myself a new TV!
No reason not to grab the next best available 4 or 5 at 14--even if said big is rated behind a PG on our board. We can't afford to keep missing out on bigs in the draft. We went SF, PG, SG last year, and C, PG/SG, the year before that. This year, we better walk away with a PF--no two ways about it. If a PG or two are rated higher, find the team behind us that wants the PG, and trade back after acquiring, which is what I THOUGHT we were going to do last year after grabbing Ennis.
So, again, my point is, we need to walk out of this next draft with a PF--2 if possible. Towns, Harrell, Portis, Looney, Kaminsky--would probably be the order I'd choose, even if Harrell is dropping some, I really like him.

Plenty of high energy Draymond Green-type players that arent drafted because they dont have fancy stats... but the effort and energy, these guys can make an impact in the modern NBA. The junkyard dog types are thriving in this era where half the teams have 2 small forwards playing along a center.

Or, as I call them - The Dudleys.

imagine if we place in the top 3 of the lotto... and cause LA to drop to #6.
Oh the humanity.

I'll be ecstatic since jumping from pick 14 to 3, would be a miracle. Even losing the Lakers pick will not diminish the joy (maybe a little) in getting a top 3 pick in which Towns, Russell, Okafor may be available.
But I'll cry if someone else jumps ( a couple of teams) top 3 and pushes Lakers to pick 6.

That's funny. Imagine if we still had the Laker pick and that happened?

Trade up for a top 10 pick, I'd go with elite potential (even if high bust risk) in Porzingis.

I'm liking Hezonja. That kid has something out him. Looks like a versatile winner. 2 way player at the 3 spot. Meatier Gordon Hayward. Drazen Petrovic plus Tony Kukoc= the Croatian Sensation.
Already speaks great English, so the transition should not be too bad. Playing for Barca currently I think.

Im starting to think (believe) the Suns will (can) finish top 10 picks this year... maybe even 8th...
Pistons, Pacers, Hornets, Jazz can probably win 15-16 games.... the Suns around 8-9 games... and Suns out-rank them into the top 10.

He's already projected to go like 6th, so it would be tough to get him, unless the Lakers pick drops to 6th. Oh wait, nvm.

Why not go for the highest pick possible even if we end up packaging it with another deal?

I wonder if McD has a sleeper PF in mind for this draft? I love the Len pick, and after all is said and done I think McD will ride the Len pick for job security for several years.
If he can find a hidden-gem of a defensive, two way PF I would be ecstatic.

One of the better players on Barcelona already as well (which is one of the better teams in Europe). He's being completely underutilized there too. Put this guy in a high pace offense and he will absolutely kill. I've said this before, if he played in college he'd be a top 3 pick.

Lakers are two games behind Orlando for a 44.5% chance of landing on the 6 spot or below - there is a very real possibility that the Lakers pick will be a coin toss chance away from landing outside of the top 5 on lotto night.

I'd still be happy if the Lakers wound up with the 6th and lost their pick even if it wasn't us getting it. Whatever keeps the Lakers at the bottom of the NBA brings a smile to my face.

Are you trying to find some silver lining if we lose to Orlando tonight? Good job! Good effort!
