Plus, we don't know how good our depth is at the 3. Sure, we have Weems, but who knows how good he will be and I'm not sure I trust him or Warren guarding Durant.
For me, I just don't see Tucker getting us anyone all that good (relative to Galinari) at the deadline, although I am perfectly happy with him on the team this season with his contract. But I am a real fan of Weems and Bogdan, while admittedly unproven, I believe they're easy rotation guys for us and Bogdan in particular I see alot of potential with, so I don't want Tucker here next year unless it's in a much-diminished role. That said, I'd do the trade only if I had some idea of what Galo's number is in FA. maybe negotiate a wink wink deal so long as his agent isn't Fagan or Lebron's jersey salesman. If he's just a 1 year rental or a guy we have to max then Tucker has more value, bc we could keep his $5 mil on the books next year and still go after a Horford-type game changer, whereas a huge contract for Galo costs us that opportunity. It would depend if he's smart enough to realize our system and training staff is the best place for him to fit in.
But I'm also more concerned with winning 2-3 years from now than making the playoffs this year, so I don't really value Tucker anywhere near what many here would. If it were up to me, we'd be adding whoever falls out in Houston between Montrezl and Christian Wood, and another league minimum PG age 26 or under who had the potential to at least be a mid-term backup (maybe that's McConnell, but I'd see who gets cut across Summer League first), and trading Tucker for a future first or another young player I liked if someone would offer it.
