He might be able to solve our PF spot. He's also a much better shooter than Leuer.

I would be, but I can't see a reason they would trade him or allow him to get away in RFA. They certainly don't need guards, and won't want guys like Tucker because of rebuilding, and the owner would never trade for Kieff after having to endure the jailblazers era.

What we do toward the trade deadline is that we forget completely about winning and focus on getting the absolute best player possible. There is no point in backwards or sideways trades. i am fine with trading Chandler as long as its OK with Chandler. You do that with veteran free agents and make sure everyone knows that you accomodated him.

I am fine with trading PJ, Kieff, Bledsoe, Knight, Weems , Leuer, Tele, Price. The only players I would not touch would be Booker and Warren. I would hang on to Len unless he is part of a package for a better big.

Last time I heard McDonough, he said we're only 2 games off 8th seed, and then a week later he said we're only 3 games off 8th seed.

Now we're 5 games off 8th seed, so surely there comes a point where we can't be running that line anymore!

And I just realised we're in 4th pick position with a team with no incentive to tank the only thing stopping us from 3rd.

And we're without our best player for the rest of season.

I hope our FO is with reality here.

When the lottery comes, there's really no difference in losing 9 games in a row than 8 games in a row for the chance of some extra luck.

Knight, Markieff and Cavs pick returned for Kyrie Irving?

Everyone plays off Lebron in CLE so Knights spotty handles won't be as much of an issue. Knight is however a more natural shooter from deep which would open up the middle for their overpaid bigs.

This is our oportunity to trade Knight and Markieff for Joe Johnson and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.
Make the call McDonough, make the **** call!!

They won't trade RHJ, as he is the only fairly high pick they will have for some time. But they would probably take guys like Knight and Markieff to compete, so if it came down to us dumping them for JJ and cap space, they'd probably do that. I think we can get more value for those guys in time though, if we need to trade them.

Well, I think Brooklyn is not the typical team that values young talent over big names. Brandon Knight is an upgrade for them at PG and he is an stablished player (for the good or for the bad). They want to be a playoff team already, so if we are looking for a team that can trade a recent first round pick I think they are the perfect target.

Markieff can play a ton of minutes under Thad and Lopez.

Justin Anderson from Dallas can be a great addition too. Dallas is making a run and they don't need him, he is gonna be good.

I would add 2 or 3 more picks if necessary...but they are not trading Irving for anyone.

once the crash and burn smoke gets over the horizon... the scavengers will come.

McDeals will likely accommodate. If he lets this hot mess stew all yr, it will draw more flies (attention)

I guess we will now go through our seemingly annual metamorphosis as Suns fans and start focusing on the trade deadline and the draft. Our 'how good we are' speculation/debate time seems to be growing shorter. Eventually Sarver will get tired of hitting the reset button.

I wonder if anyone keeps tabs on the # of different players on rosters. After this yr, McDontbuyahouseinPHX is has to be approaching the top.

I'm interested. But I don't see him ever being 50/40/90. And it depends on the price.

McDonough has to say those things. I doubt he honestly believes we're making the playoffs. I expect a firesale of everyone over 26 who another team will give us anything positive for. Then, come draft time and once we know who we're taking, I could see us move even more guys. For instance, if Dunn is BPA we'd have to move a guard or else reach for non-BPA.

He already did it last year (very small sample size but still very impressive)

I am kinda happy with what is going on, right BWgood? We are in position for a high draft pick. We are playing the young guys and they are looking good. We have some tradeable pieces (Knight, Bledsoe, Len, picks,) if need be. We were forced to go into rebuild mode via the basketball gods contrary to our silly front office desires.

If we did luck up and get Simmons, who I trust is good through you guys (football season, I honestly don't even know what the guy looks like), man, our entire destiny could change in a heartbeat.

Side note: I don't follow college hoops until after the Super Bowl. I definitely do not follow high school Bball. I am a football first guy for the record.

Since he has been out, CJ has been balling out of control, putting up Lillard like numbers (at a fraction of the contract). If we could do a Bledsoe/Len/Goodwin type of trade for Lillard, i would do it in a heartbeat. I think a Lillard/Booker pairing would be very comparable to Curry/Thompson.

Lillard/Booker/Warren

I don't think they would part with him, but if hypothetically they did, that defense would look like the Sacramento game all season long...

It sucks but I can see a chandler trade held up by teams waiting on cousins and dwight. I could see some team willing to take on Chandlers contract but a team like Boston is gonna wait to see of they can land cousins first. Houston makes sense as a chandler destination if they move dwight. Maybe a 3 teamer could work where chandler and other parts like Morris or tucker land in Houston dwight goes to a playoff team and expiring contracts and young players or picks back to Phoenix.

OffTopic: Can Ben Simmons play pf? If lady luck would finally be with us this year can he and TJ start together?

PS: Would you guys do Rubio for Knight?

Hell no to Rubio. Worst jump shooter ever arguably. His numbers this year are good but his career ones are no better than Knight's, and we have spacing problems half the time when we go all defense already. His passing makes everyone better, but his shooting makes everyone worse. He'd be more pleasant to watch but probably not add wins.

I think Simmons can play the 4. That's where I'd put him if we drafted him. But if he's not there, and if Skal doesn't turn things around, I want Dunn and I would want us to move one of the guards at that point. Dunn will be an all star imo, and at that point I'm fine doubling down to go even younger.

3 team blockbuster:
Suns: Wall
Chi: Knight
Wsh:Len, Mirotic, Bledsoe, Chi 1st, Cav 1st

We could switch the cavs pick for one of the mia pick to get it done.

Then go HARD after Whiteside
Wall
Booker
Warren
?(Suns 1st)
Whiteside

Yes, Simmons is gonna be a PF in the NBA. He is a legit 6'10 and shooting is not his best ability. He is a great ball handler and passing the ball, like Draymond Green.

Warren-Simmons would be amazing.

I would trade Knight for Rubio in a heartbeat, but the Wolves are not going to make this move.

Put that trade on the general board and you will see that everyone values Rubio a lot because he is great defensively and running the team.
