Well right now we have the 7th slot and a 32% chance at a top 4 pick. Funny thing is at 7 it still has us taking Tyrese Halliburton but he is a stud this season http://www.tankathon.com/mock_draft with 17.7 ppg, 7.5 apg, 2.5 spg, 52% from the field, 42.4% from 3, great DRTG http://www.tankathon.com/players/tyrese-haliburton . I'd draft him make him backup, make Elie 3rd string 1/2 (if Bridges is backup 2), and Ty Jerome last guard on bench. Let Carter go.

I know we need a PF but PG is much more important and if we get a great Ast/To ratio guys who can hit shots and defend and possibly be PG of the future, take him.

I like Okongwu next to Ayton for defensive purposes (3.2 bpg), and a great finisher, but you really only want him there if Ayton can stretch his range to 3, because Okongwu would be more of an inside player. 3 players that I'm excited about, Outside of the lottery, In the 2020 lottery are:

1- Tyler Bey. A 6'8 Shawn Marion clone, Who is a double/double machine. And an ELITE defender and rebounding savant. He's very lanky and explosive too.

I know that it might not be the popular thing to propose, But IF we were to land in the top 3 of the draft and were able to draft Wiseman, I'd draft him at center, then look to trade Ayton to either the hawks for John Collins, or to Memphis for Jaren Jackson Jr. Or vice versa! Keep Ayton and trade the rights to Wiseman for for Collins, Jackson Jr. Or some other big piece? Wishful thinking of course.

But other than Aaron Gordon being mentioned in terms of athleticism and size/ wingspan, What were the others again? The failed comps I mean?

Also yes, I do like Bey for his versatility and potential to help address multiple areas in which we are struggling. Also I think that in order to start correcting things, We should be looking at "Heart and Hustle" players that hopefully play tenacious defense too. Another player that is intriguing is Emmitt Williams ( West Virginia)as he really compares favorably to Jerami Grant I believe.

I really wish that our scouting staff was much better, So that we could more accurately identify these potential 2nd round gems.

Carey from Duke looks like Bam 2.0 - who I really liked that draft. Ofcourse it took him some time to play the way he does now, with Miami development, and some study behind (then useful) Whiteside. Not sure we could do that. But at least we'd have a banger down low. He could first replace Barnes, then if Ayton learns to shoot the 3 ball they could even play together a bit. I think he'll be available in our range too (8-14).

Just came here to post about Carey. Conspicuously low on the mock drafts for a player with his sort of production, on the #2 team in the country no less. If he falls to our range, we should definitely consider him.

I think that comparison is likely why he's projected to fall so far. But I see much more athleticism in Carey, as well as more defense, and I think he's going to develop a three ball as well.

Not the kind of player I want to see switched out onto the perimeter, that's for sure. But I believe you need size in this league, and Carey's got that.

Also, I don't know if I'm interested in Adonis err Isiah Stewart, but good lord that man has some.... attributes. Obi Toppin looks like a poor man's Amare.

A good scout should be able to get a good big man out of the 13-16 range where we'll select.

Here's a player that I really think we should keep an eye on around draft time, As we obviously really need a pure scorer and shot creator. And this kid looks like he can really do it all, And he's even a good defender too.

Aaron Nesmith. ( 6'6 215 lbs. ) shooting guard- Vanderbilt. He's just got such a knack for scoring and for making shots that he kind of reminds me of Warren somewhat. Except with defense.

He's currently listed as a mid to late first round pick in 2020, Or 2021 I believe. But could definitely be a value pick for additional scoring off the bench for us.

Any standouts or outliers being mentioned yet? Also makes you wonder a bit doesn't it. I mean aren't wing players the one position that we're fairly solid at. I though our biggest positional needs were power forward and backup point guard?

- Could there be a draft day trade in the works?
- Is James Jones only comfortable with selecting players ( sharpshooting wings) that remind of his glory days comparably?
- Are they just doing their " Due Diligence " or are they just that incompetent at recognizing positional issues that demand attention?
