I posted a Booker trade on the trade board a few days ago to address our unbalanced roster. Unfortunately Book is the only one of the big 3 that can get a significant haul back
Booker for Mikal, Finney Smith, Sharpe and half our picks back from the Nets. Maybe throw in Cam Thomas too.
You guys are out of your minds. If this goes terribly wrong, then KD is the one leaving. He's got massive value, unless you're naive enough to think that all of a sudden his value has to 0.00 in the year we've had him?
A KD trade means the title window is closed. But you get max value for him while he has time left on his deal and he's still playing at a superstar level.
A Booker trade likely keeps the window open another year or two depending on the return. It could lead to being under the 2nd apron and allow more options in free agency, exceptions, trades, etc. But if that doesn't work, you lose the value of KD and may not get much for him anymore.
This is why I think they need to wait until mid season next year before deciding if they need to make drastic changes.
If we have to pull the trigger on a KD trade, the time is this summer. OKC will see what they need after they have their playoff run but they have like 5 picks this draft and don't have playing time for all the studs they have currently-forget about adding more. Presti will be making moves this summer, I'd be willing to be anything on. Now, whether or not it's with us remains to be seen.
OKC is doing itself an active disservice by NOT moving stuff actually. They're stifling the ability of their players to be able to fully realize their games cause they are competing for a min or 2 if they're lucky. Presti is too smart for this, he's making a move by the draft.
Moving KD there gives Booker a bunch of players his age range and picks to replace what we lost.
