Imagine KD went down for a long period which at his age and past injury history is not exactly out of the question. Ishbia and the keep KD camp are really bad gamblers.

Thats another reason to move on from Durant now -- the odds of him being healthy again for over 80% of the season, probably very small
Ishbia made a lot of money building his mortgage business - he can't be this obtuse when it comes to the Suns and the future of the team - he has to be smarter than that

I'm not sure Booker is being a realistic about our situation currently! What does he really think we'll be when KD is traded or even if KD stays and he falls off a clif completely.
And/or becomes completely irrelevant/ non impactful and Beal finally expires?? How competitive does he really think we'll be in the coming years honestly?
Especially with ZERO ASSETS and zero high end elite young talent too.
I agree on him being quite delusional here because he thinks we are in a better situation we really are. I mean, with the right trades and decisions, and an owner willing to spend 400 miilion (+100 in new headquarters), and three stars in 50 million contracts to receive something in accordance, it should not be that difficult to trade for men and not names and ensamble a good team again. But for the same reason that we would be trading players in max contracts, then we would be receiving players in max contracts, unless we find the correct situation of 1X2 and get back good players, willing to sacrifice.
We need players who are 1/2 step or 1 step of getting into stardom, as Fox was prior to his last years, or Halliburton, or Brunson, or SGA, or the Sabonis prior to his stint with Sacramento... players like those ones, one step before they reach the next level. And the reason to reach that next level is that they find the correct situation here or that our developing team acomplishes that.

Booker wants to stay in Phoenix cause he knows people won’t really hold him accountable here and he can just screw around like he’s been doing. Put Booker on the Lakers and with the media coverage there, Booker would be tearing up crying with how they’d react after his 12 pt stinkers while making $50M a year.
Plus he has a lot of business investments in Scottsdale. And some of the best looking women in the country for him and his entourage to party and mess around with.
I don’t care if Booker says he plans on donating all his salary and will actually play for free, he needs to be traded out in order for this team to actually rebuild properly and be good again.

I'd love him in his hometown of DET. For him, and us.
We need guys like Stewert here as this team is missing toughness. Add on Ivey and Ausar Thompson and a cpl 1sts...and we are primed for a proper future with guys that will play hard every game.

Not a bad idea. I think my favorite packages for Booker would be
1. OKC
2. Detroit
3. Houston
*all that plus sending KD to Miami for Ware & picks and I think we would be in a good position to rebuild and be good in ~3 years if drafted well.

This is kind of like Lillard in Portland, except he basically was singlehandedly still getting them into the playoffs, and sometimes pulling some historic upsets with series saving or series winning long buzzer beater 3s.
We can barely be in the 9/10 play in territory with BOTH KD and Book.

I agree. I think Booker is very satisfied earning the 55+m and if winning comes along, so be it. If not, life is very good
I am going to see his stat line for tonights game. He comes out with the article. Committed. Doesn't think they need to rebuild or whatever he said. Show up tonight DBook -- show up

Plus, I think Booker needs to be paired with an alpha player. In Detroit, that is Cade C. Booker can just be the two guard, scoring points, but Cade is the leader of that team
I like it!

Yeah. That version of Dame was way better than current Booker. Actually if we had that Dame, KD and Beal along with the defense of Oso and Dunn...we'd be in the playoffs-and have a decent seed too.
I wish we had 2019 or so Damien Lillard.

A team with KD and Book should not be fighting for the 10th seed - just shouldn't. Neither of them have really taken over and carried the team on their back like Damien did at times in Portland. He was a one man wrecking crew. Lillard wasn't afraid of winning games. I think Durant and Booker are comfortable losing games.

Maybe not the best move with a few weeks left in the season. Seems like they went from a 2nd tier contender to first round fodder fairly quickly.
And then the bigger question that follows........................................
Would losing out then cause Morant to demand a trade, and if he asks out, does a fire sale happen shortly after?
Why? Wasn't firing Jenkins because Morant reportedly wanted more of a high powered offense vs the more balanced approach Jenkins took?

I love how fans can just read into NBA elite NBA player's psyche and explain why they think winning isn't important to them.

If the front office has balls you sit him until he asks to be traded.Slim Charless wrote:bullsaficianado wrote:There is no point in trading Durant. You will never get equal value back. Of course teams are salivating from the mouth trying to get him. He is one of the greatest NBA players ever. Keep him and extend him let him retire a Sun.
You still try and build around Booker and Durant. Figure out what to do with the Beal contract this summer.
I hate cowardly answers like the one you just gave.
Don't just say "figure out what to do"
Give an actual answer as what YOU would do. He's 1 of the worst contracts in the league. He has a NTC and can veto anyplace he doesn't want to go to. You can't just shrug your shoulders and say "figure it out" it not that easy.
I've already said I'll keep him and move Booker to DET or HOU and Durant to Miami. Let Beal stay and play out his deal.
Tell everyone what you want to happen with Beal. Be specific.
"Mannnnn I’m like the guy that pissed this whole board off saying literally all year no Mikal, no Mikal in the KD trade."

Dame didn’t win **** in Portland. He hit some really big shots, super clutch, but that’s about it.BobbieL wrote:Slim Charless wrote:bwgood77 wrote:This is kind of like Lillard in Portland, except he basically was singlehandedly still getting them into the playoffs, and sometimes pulling some historic upsets with series saving or series winning long buzzer beater 3s.

That's different though. He had no one on the level of Durant on those teams. Beal is probably equal to CJ, so imagine adding this current Durant to what Dame was doing back then. Plus, defenders like the Dunn/Oso combination.
That's a top 4 team IMO, even in the current west.

They made the WCF one year with him in Portland. They had to play the Durant/Curry Warriors. So at least he sniffed the NBA Finals.
