Then trade for Embiid then. He's producing at his lowest ever and can't even get in games. Value is super low.
Philly will take Beal and our picks plus Dunn for him. At least shoot for the stars with these dumb trades. If Embiid is right, he's an MVP candidate and we're the best team in the league, if all our guys are healthy.
After yesterday's trade, the price on stars has dropped. We can get him with Beal+

Really don't see how this massively changes the market. Everyone who tries to use this as a barometer is going to be dismissed. Everyone but Nico Harrison thinks the deal is ridiculous, the rest of the league isn't going to suddenly lower the price on their All NBA players just to sign up for the **** that Harrison has created for himself.

I mean... I wouldn't say no. Beal probably does though. Oh... dang. Just looked at Embiid gets paid a little more than Beal so it's theoretically impossible.
Could swing for Paul George, but I don't think him and Booker are even close to being friends, not even acquaintances.

I'd be worried about Beal saying no too. More so, really. The numbers are so close, I'm sure they could find a way-if Beal gave the thumbs up.

If we're blowing it all up soon and trading KD and Booker for picks above players for a more pure rebuild, then these picks by the Thunder, rockets and the Spurs look to be extremely enticing and likely top 10 at worst but top 5 at best picks!!!
And I'd have to think long and hard about a KD to OKC trade for young fillers and 2 picks ( I don't think we could get 3 picks honestly)?? But I'd absolutely target that DAL 28' 1st as one of the two picks coming back. Maybe with the 27' DEN 1st being the other. Something like Hartenstein/ Joe/ Topic/ Dieng / 2 1sts??
And then Booker to Houston for Jalen Green/ Landale/ Eason / Whitmore/ PHX 27, 29 ( PHX / DALLAS swap rights 1st) and the HOU 31' 1st.

Luka did so damn much for that team and single handedly carried them to the finals and made them relevant. And they did him like that.
He was fat and not playing defense while he took em to the finals too lol. It’s way easier to find players that play defense than it is to find an offensive talent like Luka Doncic. They actually finally put together a great 3 and D team around him too and even with a mid season trade that took em to the Finals. Didn’t even give them one full season to see how it would play out again.
Kyrie and Klay signed with the Mavs because of Luka alone. I’m curious to see how that Mavs locker room is gonna be now. Even Dirk, Mr Maverick and their legend is freaking stunned.
It's one thing to treat him like an asset to get back as much as possible, it's another to treat him like an asset and get pennies on the dollar.

Re: 2024-25 Season Discussion and Speculation Part III
I understand the concern on how it appears that the Lakers again got a supreme talent for less than value.
I suggest that we wait and see what the future holds. Luka has been playing against grown men since he was in high school. He has had injury stints during his YOUNG career.
Does the Mavericks medical staff know something no one else does?
The only answer is I can think of is yes. It also has to be about the money they would have tied up into his upcoming contract. Would they turn the Mavs into the Phoenix Suns. We may be screwed but would you really want Embiid's contract? We are close with Beal's and could add additional misery at the deadline.
ON the cynical side of the equation. The Television ratings are going to go nuclear to watch Luka and Lebron play basketball. If they make a long playoff run, can you imagine them in the finals, it will help the NBA immensely.
Back to us, BLOW THIS UP. Our new center got schooled by our old center last night. Could the Blazers make the playoffs?
I wish we had their team and not ours.

Jimmy Butler does absolutely nothing to help win us a championship. We have a 0.00% chance with him here.
Embiid, if healthy can bring us a title if Booker and KD are also healthy. Long shot. Very long shot...but much better chances than with Butler.

I would agree with you but Booker could be the piece that gets them a title
As for Booker and Durant -- I just think the alternative is so much worse that even if you don't get the picks back from Houston, there is a possible middle ground that is still a helluva lot better than going all in for Jimmy Butler this week or just riding it out with KD and Booker
I mean, I read Gerald B's tweet but what team are they truly watching if they think they can build around Booker and KD with little draft picks and trade flexibility.

It's stupid and there's absolutely no excuse for this. I think they could've gotten basically anyone in the NBA they wanted and went with this.
Criminally bad GMing.

Can only hope
1) there are actual calls coming in
2) they pick up and listen
3) they discuss the options

You'd prefer Jimmy Butler?
Which team if fully healthy gives the best chances for a title........ I'll go with the one with the former MVP and multiple time 1st team all NBA center.
If I have to choose, that is. My preference is to move KD and Booker.

I read Gerald's tweet...he says "for those worried the plan is still to build around Booker and KD" so I guess he is saying we need to continue to be worried? While one of the other older teams goes out and gets a 25 year old superstar, we stay with building around a 36 year old who will be 37 next season.

Looks like an organization that knows him best felt the same way. Maybe this makes people feel a little bit better about passing on him. That said I'd still take him instead of any of our "Big 3" including all the draft capital lost in KD and Beal trades knowing our current state.
Luka is a generational talent, team should be patiently working with him on his health and conditioning. Luka is a competitor I don't see how they can't push him to work on his conditioning. What the hell? You don't trade your franchise player, the player you built your entire roster around that just went to the Finals because there's "concerns" on his conditioning
He's had a tough season injury wise this season but for the majority of his carer, he's played basically as many games as most stars/superstars in the league. Last 5 years in the league, he's played 327 games. Giannis has played 328. SGA 304, Tatum 354....
Dude carried his team to the Finals like 8 months ago

Re: 2024-25 Season Discussion and Speculation Part III
I'm still down to blow it up.
Devin Booker for Amen Thompson, Dillon Brooks, Steven Adams, Suns picks back
KD for Chet and whatever else to make salaries work. The Mavs skunked the Thunder in the playoffs last year, and they showed they can do it again without Luka this year (Mavs 3-0 against them without Luka). They need the help.
Beal can stick around. HIs contract is a net negative right now, but in two seasons it'll be valuable since it will be an expiring contract. Keep him.
Grayson might be of some value to somewhere. Maybe a three-team deal where he goes to the Magic, Suns get Coby White, Bulls get a 1st.
Suns can keep Nurkic too. His contract may be of value next season to a team looking to shed salary.
^All that said... Ishbia won't allow that to happen. He's building around Booker and KD.

Our chances are at least .01% with Butler. I don't want Butler but Embiid is done. He played in 39 games last year and they lost in the first round. He has played in 13 games this year. His short career is pretty much over and he will make like $70 million in 28-29.
I really hope the Philly owner isn't reading our forum because he might try to dump him on us.
It is too bad though that we didn't follow your advice of trading Ayton for AD, and then traded AD and a first for Luka. Then we could have basically swapped out our Ayton pick for Luka for the cost of one future first. Not bad.
