Ranking of the second units of the Western Conference teams. Basketball Insiders has the Suns ranked fifth overall, in the first tier. We are only behind Golden State, L.A. Clippers, San Antonio, and Houston.

The Suns have locked in their core for the future and bolstered their shooting and defense as well as their leadership through the draft and free agency. Their bench unit will be quite good in 2015-16. Adding Tyson Chandler sends the budding Alex Len to the bench and gives him even better mentoring as a defensive anchor. They drafted one sharpshooter in Devin Booker and they signed another one in stretch-four Mirza Teletovic. Plus, they opened the door for the effortless scoring of T.J. Warren in a salary dump that created time at the backup small forward spot. They also have Archie Goodwin and signed Sonny Weems. The future is bright for this bench. Look for them to win some games single-handedly when the starters don’t have it going next year.

What FA is going to sign up to play with the Suns long-term because we have a 36 year old Pau Gasol? If this is about getting more guys in FA, it doesn't make sense.

It's about winning and the psychology of it. Ask yourself are you more likely to be happy joining a growing company that is profitable and doing interesting things, or more likely to want to join a company that is on the long-road to rebuilding itself. Success breeds success. People won't necessarily come for Pau on his own, but they will line up to join a winning culture. Right now the Suns do not have a winning culture. We have a rebuilding culture.

And if we adopt your line of thinking, we will have the Brooklyn Nets' culture before we develop a winning culture. That's what happens when you invest in 35 year olds to win now with the hope of getting others to want to ride along to fill in the pieces.

You couldn't be more right. Just wanted to chime in to say I agree with literally every point you've made in this disaster of a thread. Keep at it!

I just don't see the trade making sense for CHI, regardless of what might work better for us. They just picked up Portis, why would they want Keef, when Gasol can slide to the five?

I still want to see Keef next to Chandler. Maybe he can light a fire under him and forget all the bull. Markeiff hasn't played with such a strong defensive vet before.

Gasol is solid even at an older age, but I can just feel the ghost of Burningheart screaming,"Nooooooo, not that b*tch!" Watching Gasol taxes on my last nerve, with him crying after every shot.

:jawdrop:

BBallInsiders sucks, but hey, somebody else on the internet is high on the Suns. TOOT TOOT.

Horny loves to plug and play too, so having a strong bench is vital.

If I were horny, I'd be inside myself with balls, getting sucks and plugging and playing with a strong hard object too.

I think Gasol would get Horny, plug himself in and have a bit of a play around, maybe see who sucks?

Something strong and hard to sit on is vital.

Is this some kind of performance art, Mulholland? Might be time to lay off the Lynch movies.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Here is an article about best potential trade packages for Markieff.

I have been consistent in my belief that we need to move Markieff and still want that to happen. I think all the deals proposed are reasonable for both sides and I could see any of them happening.

I just what this to be settled sooner than later. I want players that want to be on the Phoneix Suns. I want them to arrive at training camp in shape, with great attitudes.

It just appears that Markieff does not want to be here and that we do not want him either.

Que up Goran's "I don't trust this FO" in three, two, one. :D

But seriously, pretty funny to ink up Goran, and then trade Zoran later in the month, to go play with IT.

In the Gasol trade scenarios Kieff doesn't go to CHI, he goes to TOR, who sends Nogueira (replacement big) and Ross to Chi, PHX sends Tucker to CHI.

Kieff, Tucker, Cavs 1 for Gasol, Caboclo (old and young)
Ross, Noguiera, Caboclo for Kieff, Barstow
Pau, Bairstow for Tucker, Ross, Nogueira, Cavs #1

That was the deal. CHI gets more athletic and deeper at their biggest position of weakness while pulling from their deepest position to pay for it and stockpiling prospects for the future. TOR trades prospects for better shooting/ scoring on the front line. PHX gets a vet that meets a need on multiple levels and is content with the strength of the remaining youth on the bench.

Miami is paying next years salary for Zoran. Goran is happy with it.

I bet Celtics cut him and he goes back to Europe or the Dleague.

Thank the suns for giving him some extra cash for no reason, yet were still the bad guys!

Camp hasn't started yet. As far as I know, the offseason is just that-- time for the guys to relax, train and prepare for the upcoming season.

So we trade two starters for one old? I'm still not sure why so many want to get rid of one of our best defenders for scraps. :banghead: And we include a pick? :o

I'm glad our FO isn't entertaining this.
