Kings might cut Evans and Galloway so they're left with Hield, middle 1st and early 2nd.

How did we not beat that.

Ok, after watching the UFC fights, i came back to this F***fest. This is what i believe:

Ray-Ray was/is 100% right. He was right with our offer and right that they didnt want to trade with us even though our deal was better. As i stated before, i know we were trying to deal with them for Cousins, and the Pelicans "Rumor" at the time was put out there for us to sweeten the deal. After going back and forth with the Suns FO, they told McD that they have a better deal on the table and for the Suns to make their best and final offer, and McD stood pat. McD knows that we would have had a great chance at re-signing Cousins due to his relationship with Bledsoe, but that still was no guarantee. He also had to factor in how pissed Cousins would be, not only with the Kings, but the team trading for him, knowing they helped in him essentially losing $40M. Thats why McD didnt sweeten the offer by replacing Knight in the deal with another player. Vlad was pissed and pretty much said "Screw you" to the Suns by accepting a much inferior offer. Maybe they still hold some hostility to McD for him swiping Chriss out from them in that horrible horrible deal.

I mean we all know our pick will be more valuable, thats a given. Warren >>>> Hield. Len >>>>>> Galloway. The only downside was Knight and his contract, so i could see in the Kings eyes Evans >>>>>>>>>> Knight.

As for the tweet about how they look at Hield as a top 5 pick player, and a #10 pick (Pelicans), LMAO. Do they seriously think that pairing up two of the most dominant all-star bigs in their prime will net them a top 10 pick???? Hell they have the #9 pick right now, and that was just with Davis! Losing Hield/Evans/Galloway and adding Cousins/Casspi isnt going to lose them more games, they will be winning games, and i fail to see how the Pelicans dont end up in the playoffs, and how the Kings dont end up with a #16-20 pick after all of this.

So in short, even though i am high (Super high) on Cousins and would have loved him on the Suns, we might have done the right thing. And another good thing to come out of all of this is that FINALLY Pelifan might have some more boardsman to talk with in his game threads!

If that's the case McD should be fired.

I dont think so. He might have just saved our ass. You know Cousins is pissed right. I think his agent was trying to scare off teams. Cousins has to hold some hostility to the Pelicans, as for as far as he knows, if it wasnt for their offer, he might still be in Sacramento and could still be getting that extra $40M. Pelicans have no guarantee that he will re-sign. They made a make it or break it move, and i think he will end up leaving in the long run, and if we still have Bledsoe on board, we might become the favorites at snagging him in FA, without having to give up ANY of our assets. Bled and Boogie are good friends and talk to each other on the regular, so i wouldnt be surprised if he isnt already in Cousins ear planting that bug. If we could end up doing all that, while keeping all our young assets and picks, that would put us in a prime position to not just sign Cousins to a sweet new deal, but to maybe go after the next disgruntled star player while also having a few talented youngsters to fill out the line-up.

Not buying it Kerrsed. If Bledsoe is a strong enough draw to get Cousins to leave money on the table and sign with us in 18 months then he would have been a powerful enough voice to get Cousins in line regardless of the $40 mil.

In other words if Bledsoe makes Boogie happy in 18 months then he would make him happy now. Can't have it both ways.

At this point Buttler has to be on the radar. If it's a no go getting a 2017 lottery pick for Bled this deadline/off-season is a good move.

This is a matchup nightmare for the Warriors with the Pels slipping into the 8th seed spot.
Both of them can really stretch the floor and shoot the three at a good clip. Basically small ball without the small. Haha, damn.

The crazy thing is that you would think they would have learned, as Jimmer didnt do squat, Stauskas didnt do squat, McLemore really hasnt done squat, so lets just keep going with the same exact kind of SG, hoping that one of them will live up to the "Lights Out Shooter" hype that they were labeled with during college/draft time.

And as far as i can tell, Buddy really hasnt been much of the player that he was projected to be so far. I mean this season he is shooting 39% FG and 36% from 3. Thats pretty bad.

It is his guess, but a very wise one. Money says they didnt want Knight involved in the trade and would have most definitely asked for Chriss or Bender instead. Thats the only reason i could see McD taking a real hard no stance.

Call me crazy but I still make the deal at Warren, Bender, Len, 2017 1st. Still got Chriss, Booker, Bledsoe, three of our top six assets.

But whatever. Vlade and Viv pulled a Kings move.

So where do we go from here?

I think Butler was/is unlikely to be traded, and even if he is, i dont see a way that we end up outbidding the Celtics. Word is that they stayed out of the Cousins bidding war because they have their eyes and attention set to the Bulls and Butler. Im starting to think that this will be yet another year without a superstar trade. I can see us moving Tucker......maybe Chandler as well, and getting a few low end picks and youngsters that are touted as having potential, yet havent reached it yet in their 2-3 years in the league. I was really thinking and hoping that a big move would be made and our 1st round pick would be gone, but its looking more and more likely that i will have to start paying more attention to the college ball and the draft prospects.

I might have as well. I would have preferred to keep Bender over Chriss, as i think Bender would have been a much much much better fit next to Cousins, but i would have given the Kings their choice and ran. Knowing them, they might have just asked for Ulis instead of Chriss or Bender.

Why is everyone here freaking out? We have no idea what the suns were offering or what the kings were asking. All we know for fact is that A.) We could have beat the deal and B.) The kings took NO package. Anything else in between is 100% speculation from EVERY POSTER on the board.

Yep. We will have to argue about Lonzo Ball for the next four months. There are worse things. Lol
