Dare we think we are a .500 ball club ?

No doubt we have surprised a few teams as much as our fan base. The word is out. They will be ready as the patsies in the Desert are no more. We are a much tougher ball club... espeicailly with the Big Passive sitting out for 25. (yes, a jab tossed at BoyBlunder) I think his timeoff will be beneficial in the long run....welcome to grownup land.

BTW.... that bandwagon I had reserved is filling fast. We'll have to add on if we tune up the Jazz
What ? Me Worry ?

Yeah I thought 35 or so wins and an outside shot at the PO. I don’t see a reason yet to alter that expectation, primarily because 35 wins is a huge leap and 7 PS and RS games is a very small sample. If anything, being surprised with 40+ wins is better than getting pissed from irrational expectations.

Pretty satisfied though with my 2016 Hornets comp, stylistically and directionally. Early on the passing, 3PA rates, and defensive improvements hue closely with CHA’s drastic personnel makeover

An eery side note, Hornets starting center and Post Up savant Al Jefferson went down very early in the season and didn’t return fully until after serving his suspension from a failed drug test. By that time Cody Zeller had replaced him in the starting lineup where his defensive activity and pretty great screen setting were better fits in Charlotte’s ball-movement offense led by Kemba’s breakout.

Oh, and lol CHA shipped their knucklehead starting wing to Memphis which led to ripping off something like 25 wins in 30 games.

Down 40, wow! they are taking g over the tank commander role the Suns held, they are bad, outside of Curry and Dlo not sure where any scoring comes from they also dont have much shooting on that team, its a pretty poorly constructed team looks like McD put them together

Better hear media rip into Curry saying how he is overrated and he shouldn’t be an all-star. Betting though I’ll hear the opposite and hear how Curry doesn’t have a good supporting cast.

NBA will fix Curry's supporting cast problem. Dubs miss the playoffs and end up with good lottery odds. Silver will hand them the number one pick this offseason. Then Klay returns ... poof ... Dubs contending again.

I am not sure the league will do that for the Dubs. They had a historic run. There is zero reason for the league to feel sorry for Steph Curry. There cap space is nil. They have the MLE and thats it. They better do whatever they can to make DLo look as good as possible and hope some team takes him on Dec 15. Who else was rumored to want DL besides Phx and Minney - the Lakers maybe. I know I have mentioned it but the Twolves cap is pretty tight too - they might want to move Teague/Covington for Russell to get a player to add to KAT for the long run

I don't think they want to trade Covington, but they'd gladly probably trade Culver, Teague and something else...maybe. They have an impressive start too being undefeated and with a pt differential per game a half point behind ours.

The warriors look very mortal. They're starting suns legend Marquese Chriss.

Whether it was this thread or another but somebody mentioned Bogut or Monroe as short term options if the Duns get an exception for Ayton: I think maybe Monroe. Be nice to get some low post potential . But any player that brings fouls at the 5 would be nice if they get the roster exemption

Hey everyone.

Just wanted to introduce myself a bit. I have been reading this Suns forum for many years now, and previously PHXsuns.net i guess i am what they consider the ultimate lurker :) Even over the last 6 plus years of Suns being completely horrible i still checked in here on regular basis as many posters here often had pretty good and knowledgeable info about the Suns.

Over last couple years specifically it has been as bad as i have ever experienced it being a Suns fan. It has been a pure embarrassment for us as fans. I can only imagine how the players have felt over the last few years. Forget the money aspect. It can obviously numb some of that but not completely.

It was a very interesting off season and while i don't really do in depth research on players. I kind of questioned Jones' moves over the summer, i did expect us to finally be decent for the first time in a few years. But nothing like this.

It has been such a breath of fresh air to finally being able to watch a Suns team compete and look like a professional basketball team again. Not only that but the way they have come out of the gate is purely amazing. Considering half the team was again turned over in the off season. Obviously most of those moves are looking awfully good so far though.

All the new guys so far been so impressive. Everyone working hard, hustling and look like playing with a purpose. What a blessing in disguise this off season has been from adding what seems so far to be an amazing fit at the coaching position to the adding a mix of veteran players that simply know how to play the game the right way.

I am super excited for this season. I cant remember last time i had as much joy watching a few Suns games as i have felt so far this season 3 games in.

Here is to hoping we continue to buy into Monty's system, play hard and unselfish. And we should have a good chance to be a surprise playoff team this year! And of course lets hope we get AD back sooner than 23 games from now. Really curious what happened there. Did he really take something, or just got paranoid that he would get caught with weed, which is just dumb..

Anyways, happy to have made my first post!

Go Suns!

Bogut wouldn’t come to us and Monroe isn’t on a roster for a reason. Easy pass on Monroe. We signed Diallo as our third string center and he’s gonna he utilized more as our fourth string center with Kaminsky sliding over to the 5 in certain game situations. Depth wise I think we are fine unless an injury occurs.

The biggest roster need IMO, with or without Ayton, is a sturdy 3/4 wing who’s able to give decent rotation minutes when called upon.

Tyler, Booker, Cam, and even to a certain degree Bridges lack the frame to body large starting wings. Oubre is decent in this regard but having just 1 such player is rare.

How is he doing for them so far? Is Green accurate with his statement that he's the man now that he's in a better situation?

Draymond/Chriss/DLo - an interesting combination that could literally be anything. Wouldn't shock me to see them beast it, wouldn't shock me for them to be the worst combo in the league.

Return to Phoenix Suns
