You can play all the defense you want. If you can't score, you won't win either.

This would be a somewhat ironic trade. How about we trade Vince Carter, Robin Lopez, a 1st Round Pick for Andrea Bargnani and Leandro Barbosa. We could have Bargnani play PF.

Nash/Brooks/Dowdell
Dudley/Barbosa
Hill*/Childress/Pietrus
Bargnani/Warrick
Gortat/Frye

If Hill retires, the Suns still have four wings. Bargs, Gortat and Frye could each get 32 minutes in the PF/C position if Warrick proves to be non-effective again.
Bargs and Frye could make it rain all day... That would be fun to watch. Kind of.

Why take Bargnani's contract if we already have Frye? Who might actually be better than him. Barbosa is kind of pointless too, having many wings and Brooks (who plays like him).

I'd rather spend that money on a banger PF.

I was saving this for the "Official Offseason Thread" that i just created, but what about a PHX/TOR/ATL 3-way? Atlanta is really struggling and we all know about the fact that they need to unload Josh Smith due to money/cap issues next year and free up Horford to move back to his natural PF position, all the while adding a great starting caliber C in Bargnani.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachi ... Id=4t2e8dm

PHX gets: Smith/1st
Brooks/Dudley/Pietrus/Smith/Gortat

ATL gets: Bargnani/Johnson
Hinrich/Johnson/Williams/Horford/Bargnani

TOR gets: Nash/Lopez
Nash/Derozan/Kleiza/Davis/Lopez

I'd love to see the face on Nash when he is told he was traded...but he'll still have to deal with Lopez in his new team.

I'm not high on trading Nash either. The nice thing about getting Smith is pairing Nash with him. Not sure how that would be possible though.

A great starting caliber C in Bargnani? Are you serious?

Even Toronto fans want to move him to PF because he's such a horrible defender and rebounder. I personally think he's a small forward more than anythin.

Bargs is a good enough player but Frye is smarter, a better defender, a better rebounder and almost as good offensively - he lacks Bargs ability to take it the the rim, but no reason he can't add that - he's done it a few times this year

Plus, didn't Bargs just sign a new deal?

True, but defense leads to offense, not the other way around.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

I'm content with rebounding their misses leading to offense. Limit second chance points = you always win.

+1
IMO giving up second chance points is just about our biggest weakness and the ironic thing is it often happens on posessions where we have played good defense. Like the end of the Hornets game the other day...swarming defense to force the Hornets into a bad shot, only to let Okafor get the rebound and a point blank layup that pretty much sealed it.

Remember how we were annoyed Amare when he got 6 rebounds? Well, we would be freaki'n going crazy when Bargnani gets between the large figures of 0 and 4 rebounds in a game. The guy is flat out hopeless on the boards, and everything else except for scoring.

No to Bargnani. Just no.

Yep. So often we play great D, and it goes to waste. Then idiots see us giving up points and think its due to "typical Suns' awful D"

And agree on Blarghnani. Dude doesn't mean anything to me.

Well, half the board thinks Bargnani is the answer.

I don't hate the guy's game - I like Bargs a lot. But he's too damn expensive and duplicates Frye too much. But if they want to unload him he'd be welcome - the guy can play, but he has to be paired with a Reggie Evans or you'll get killed on the boards.

play him as a SF with Gortat and DeJuan Blair-type, then you got something
