That sealed the deal for me. Fultz or bust.

Id rather have Simmons or Wiggins though. :/

Yeah, this really worries me and it's why I've moved away from hoping we get him. After the recent CBA, there was a lot of speculation that the agents and players would have to take control of the situation prior to their first contract instead of waiting it out for 8 or 9 years. I wouldn't be surprised if Papa Ball hasn't already had that conversation and drawn up a plan to make it work. He's made that LA comment several times over the past 10 days.

I thought Ben Simmons would pull a 'Kobe' too but I guess he didnt have the balls to do that.
I'm fully aware that Lavar can do it for his son now, would be interesting how the league will handle with this shenanigan

Yeah but I don't expect him to stick around. I know that's the thinking since he's pretty much dropped out of site on most drafting boards but I don't see it happening. Someone will draft him in the late lottery or shortly afterward, it's probably not worth another year of college to try and move up a few spots unless he really expects Texas to turn things around that quickly.

I officially want the Lakers to lose their pick now. I was on the fence so the knight trade wouldn't look as bad but I think we're beyond that ever happening.

Would you trade the pick that is Ball for D'Angelo if the Lakers lose their pick and Ball's balls are controlled by his daddy?

Absolutely not. I'm not even sure I'd trade Knight for D'Angelo (mild hyperbole). I want no part of Russell. I'd trade down a little but yeah, your scenario would make it tough if he's really committed to a team that has no high pick.

Apparently Ball's dad said that on a Tucson radio show but it wasn't recorded.
http://allsportstucson.com/2017/02/25/ball-speaks-boldly-of-son-how-ucla-will-fare-against-arizona-in-interview-with-kcub-1290-am/
In one part of the interview that was not recorded, the elder Ball said he wants his son to play with the Lakers, who are coached by former Arizona standout Luke Walton.

That's where these tweets are coming from. I can't find any other source yet. This may be getting blown out of proportion to manufacture a story since Lavar is a controversial figure.

In 20 years, if my son is a top recruit I would say I want him to play for the suns and this same thing could happen.

The recent comment maybe, but Dad has been saying it for a while now. I've seen or heard multiple clips although this is the first time I've heard the "only" part of the quote. The first time I heard it he said "my boy will be a Laker" and they aired that one on the Mason and Ireland show, shortly after Magic was hired (before he was promoted though).

At least Trier tried. :(

Really bad game by Lauri and pretty much all of our bigs.
Too much 2nd chance pts, you cant give them much chance.

Markannen was completely useless.

With this draft being so point guard heavy, I'm really starting to like the idea of either trading our pick for 2 lottery picks , or trading Bledsoe for a top 10 pick and then nabbing Josh Jackson and Frank Ntilikina.

Possible options on draft night (picks don't necessarily reflect current standings, more an indication of value):
  • 76er #2 for #4 & #8 - although Jackson will not likely fall to 4.
  • Bledsoe to New York, Minnesota or Dallas for a pick in the range of #6-#10

A line-up of:

Ntilikina / Ulis
Booker / Jones jr. / #51
Jackson / Warren
Chriss / Dudley / #32
Len / Bender / Williams

Would be more exciting than one with Ball IMO and should have excellent ball movement.

If we could get Josh Jackson and Ntilinka, I'd be stoked..even trading Bledsoe to make that happen. I think we will keep Bledsoe though and probably draft Jackson if he is there for our pick. If we get the #1 pick, I wonder who they would take if their eye on where they expect to fall is on Jackson.

Yeah he picked up those two early fouls and was ineffective from there on. Part of it has been an ongoing problem, he's no longer getting any lift at all on his jump shot and he's being blocked from behind often as a result. But I still think he's going to be good at the next level.

I don't think he'll be able to pull a kobe unless the Lakers are at 3. Then he could make it real uncomfortable to the team picking 2. Personally I'm not sure i'd pick him 2 regardless i have some questions how his game translates.

So while i do think he ultimately plays for whatever team picks him his dad would scare me longterm. I doubt this is the last time he says something dumb.

Monks going to be interesting because i think teams will have very different opinions on him.

I could see a team like philly taking him top 5. They could let him guard pgs on d and run a bunch of their o through Simmons.

Ball has crazy dad.
JJ is a thug.
Fultz can't win games.
Smith is Bledsoe and we already have one.

OK now I'm mentally prepared to Suns lack of luck at the lottery ;)

But seriously JJ/Isaac + trade Bled for French Frank please!

The thing is, we could find a way to get another top pick and take Fultz and Jackson. But even if they pan out, for at least 2 years, they won't even be as good as Bledsoe or TJ.

Just something to consider.
