US Sports betting ban overturned in Supreme Court. It could have salary cap implications in the near future considering Silver has been trying to get some of the betting money diverted to the NBA. All I know is that the owners better not let the cap explode again.

I have a huge problem with this. Corrupt games will be a thing years from now

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.

Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

bwgood77 wrote:It's AMAZING how long this offseason has seemed already and it's not really even the offseason.

We've been talking A LOT about the draft for like 5 months and a lot about the top pick for like 3 weeks and there is still two and a half weeks left...just until the draft.

Then ten days until free agency, and then the moratorium....then probably waiting for LeBron to take his vacation he probably won't start until June 30th...which will likely hold up free agency...hopefully not again but who knows.

I remember last year it dragged on...while we discussed Millsap for like a week...then the FO came out and said they were staying young and targeting 2019....then Blake said he wants to talk so they decide to suddenly consider that for two weeks and half of the people are excited....then FINALLY they go back to their "stick to the plan" thing when Blake stays in LA (thankfully even though I know a lot of people wanted him).

So back to it....then well after free agency and trades seem over with, out comes the Kyrie news...which dragged on FOREVER. Seems like weeks...then trade goes down...they delayed another week or two....and of course another guy a lot of people wanted, but we stand firm.

And we are not even within two weeks of the draft yet...summer league should be fun and hopefully this offseason our free agency moves and/or trades are interesting but it's already going SO damn slow..

I'm probably just impatient though.

Yeah, I feel the same.

It looks so long because our offseason started in February.
We were not competing in games, so everyone was focused in the draft/next season.

Hopefully this one has been our last rebuilding season.

It would seem that either the Suns are playing games or trading pick 16. Not sure which one. Then it seems they will go a guard at 31.

When is the next day a trade can be agreed on? Is it draft day or slightly before?

I don't see us keeping the #16 pick. I think it's going to be moved for a proven commodity, even if it isn't exciting.

I just hope it's not a guy like Kemba and Gordon

Kemba could be looking at $25-30m a year after his current contract while Gordon might be a $25m signing.

I'm going to lose it if we give up any assets to give Gordon 25m a year. I wouldnt even do it if he was a UFA

Teams can make trades as soon as their season ends. So we can make trades anytime we want, but the NBA frowns upon stuff like that taking away from the Finals. Usually trading happens after then. Draft is the 22nd. Latest the Finals will go (If it goes to 7 games which it wont) is the 17th, so 5 days before the draft.

You should start a thread with that as the subject. I concur. So when the powers that be check in on fan thoughts they see it.

22nd? That's strange I was thinking it was the 21st. Don't remember it being on a Friday.

If Gordon is McD's big FA signing and at anything over $18m

I doubt Kemba gets that. The truth for PGs is that not many teams actually need one. We would be bidding against just a couple teams, and both probably won't have the space to offer anything like that.

I thought I had heard or read the 21st, but the day was easy to know now since June 1st was Friday..

I really don't want Kemba or Gordon, though I would do something like this...
Suns get-
D'Angelo Russell
DeMarre Carrol

Nets get-
TJ Warren
16th pick
31st pick
Future Bucks pick

One thing I've learned from Lakers and Nets fans is D'Lo lacks focus and is still immature. I'm assuming Booker and Jackson will help keep him level-headed and hopefully keep him motivated. Russell started off the season really hot with his new team and I imagine he could very well put up 20/5/5 while shooting 46% from the field with us too. We'd also get Carrol who can spread the floor and he used to play good defense back in the day, though I'm not sure anymore. He does expire at the end of the season.
Biggest reason I like this kind of deal is because we'd have virtually every position filled with young guys that are capable of playing and growing together. We'd also have 3 lights out shooters in D'Lo, Booker, and Bender in the starting lineup.

Or maybe something like this...
Suns get-
Damian Lillard
Maurice Harkless

Blazers get-
TJ Warren
Tyson Chandler
Jared Dudley
16th pick, 31st pick
Future Bucks pick, 2021 Heat pick, Suns 2019 pick (top 7 protected), Suns 2021 unprotected pick.

I know John Wall is going to have his super max extension start in '19, but is that keeping him from being traded this year?

I just had a dream that the Suns traded Chandler, Knight, Daniels and multiple picks for him.
