Jokic. Jokic. Jokic. He's better than both Giannis and Porzingis.

Relax, forgot to put him on the list. Ok JOKIC, Giannis, And Porzingis. Now name another superstar/star besides them,Within the last 5-10 years.

Yeah and for at least Giannis and Porzingis, they are leaning very heavily on having elite level measurements and athleticism. Doncic has nice height at 6'8" but I don't think he has super long arms or any outstanding athletic gifts by NBA standards.

The heat organization is becoming so delusional!

The whole article talks about this being a bad draft. Delusions.
“I don't think there's a lot of great players in this draft," Kammerer said.

i think we have all had enough time to look at prospects, get there strengths, weaknesses, make players best, nitpick to make them worse - that we are ready for the draft

Haha, this quote is too much:

Miami Heat president Pat Riley acknowledged as much at the end of his team's brief playoff run.

"We have a logjam," he said. "We have too many good-to-great players. We have too many."

Kammerer is just rationalizing not having any picks in a possibly great draft.

Rudy Gobert
Nemanja Nedović

2014
Dario Šarić
Jusuf Nurkić
Clint Capella
Bogdan Bogdanović
and there is Nikola Jokič in the 2nd round

2015
Kristaps Porzingis
Mario Hezonja(I was expecting Mario to go in the middle of the 1st round, he was def not worthy a top10 pick)
Nikola Milutinov

2016
Dragan Bender(TBH I was shocked that you guys took him that high. He was a definition of an unknown player, he had almost no pro games in europe before getting drafted...)
Jakob Poltl(was playing college ball)
Domantas Sabonis(college)
Georgios Papagiannis(Vlade at it's finest :D)
Juan Hernangomez
Ante Žižič
Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot
Furkan Korkmaz(What the hell was he doing in the first round?)

Now who do ou think are the guys with the highest bbal IQ/feel for the game?
Giannis, Jokič, Šarič, Bogdanovič and KP? I know that you guys would like every oneof them for your team. And Luka has a higher bbal IQ than anyone of them.
IMO feel for the game in addition with motor always translates to the league

People acting like these guys don't exist and weren't competing over in Europe    before they became solid to great players in the NBA. There's talent everywhere, just because the Euroleague is *only* the 2nd best league in the world (by a decent margin) doesn't mean the talent from there can't make it in the NBA.

You've devolved into analyzing tipping patterns for the NBA draft picks. it's time for the draft already.

Also to the "Euroleague is weak" idea, Doncic is putting up miles better numbers than anyone who's ever been drafted at a younger age. Comparing his numbers to Porzingis at the same age is night and day and he's on a better team and league.

I can’t compare Doncic to other Euroleague players, but I also can’t compare Euroleague to the NBA.

Don't have to, it's generally better than NCAA though, and you can compare him to other Euroleague players. In which case he's miles better than Porzingis, and I think if Porzingis is an outcome, its a pretty good one.

Are we going to run a mock draft comp again?

Has to be a site somewhere that makes it easy - ie drag and drop. I hate having to get them all in there.

Yes, lazy.

This tip story is just stupid.

1. He is 19.
2. He hasn't been paid yet.
3. Maybe his agent or someone was buying.
4. Who the heck knows if this girl is even telling the truth. If I was her boss, I would fire her right now for going on social media with this. Bad for business. BTW. Both my wife and I have worked for tips in the past.
5. Tips are optional for a reason. If you receive poor service you can withhold it. That's why tipping exists.

This really should not even be a discussion. It is totally unverifiable.

Honestly, I think Doncic is fine. Outright or elite athleticism is not a prerequisite to becoming elite. It helps and it certainly puts you ahead earlier if you already have some skills but the countless numbers of athletes that has come through the draft that never turned into anything because they just couldn't "put it together" has always made me favor high bball IQ over athleticism. I think Doncic is fine athletically and in terms of measurements. Definitely doesn't jump out page and for sure gets overshadowed next to a potentially generational athlete like Ayton but I think he's fine at his position. I think what he brings that works in his favor which has been lacking in many Euro prospects is he's coming in with solid weight and a strong frame. The guy isn't those skinny tall Euro's we've seen in the past that is 2 years away from being 2 years away from physical profile standpoint. He's a solid 230lb with some baby fat which should be fairly easily be able to turned into muscle through an NBA strength and conditioning program so he'll be stronger, more athletic (maybe 5% more?) and should be able to take contact well in the NBA. Then when you add the elite skills, ball handling and on court awareness with that frame, there just aren't that many like him.

So yes, he's not exciting if you look at him purely from an athletic and physical standpoint but if you combine all the other skills and intangibles, I think he becomes very interesting. Similar to Ayton, if he didn't have the skills he has for a guy his size, he'd just be 'another athlete'. It's their combination of size, skill and athleticism which makes them super intriguing prospects.

You can't compare any 'league' to the NBA. There's nothing close. Euroleague is the 2nd best in the world but it's still lagging behind by a very sizable margin.

It's totally trivial. Not sure why it's even a story. If he can play ball, that's really what matters first and foremost.
