Whether it was this thread or another but somebody mentioned Bogut or Monroe as short term options if the Duns get an exception for Ayton: I think maybe Monroe. Be nice to get some low post potential . But any player that brings fouls at the 5 would be nice if they get the roster exemption

Bogut wouldn’t come to us and Monroe isn’t on a roster for a reason. Easy pass on Monroe. We signed Diallo as our third string center and he’s gonna he utilized more as our fourth string center with Kaminsky sliding over to the 5 in certain game situations. Depth wise I think we are fine unless an injury occurs.

We probably just add a player from NAZ.

I don’t think Monty likes playing guys out of position, at least for year one. Maybe he doesn’t want to overwhelm the team forcing them to learn double/triple the plays... like when Igor has to scrap mouth of last years playbook.

I've noticed several posters have that watermark and more blurry avatars now. I use imgur and it works fine for everything.

Why not pick up Alan Williams? He's as close to an Ayton-type (great efficiency and rebounds from the C) player as you will find right now in free agency.

We’d likely have to buy him out of his contract with whatever Chinese team he is on. Doubt it would happen but I wouldn’t be opposed to having Alan Williams back. His energy is great!

I would like Alan Williams, but for now I wouldn't mess with anything. We looked fine with Saric and Kaminsky as the bigs for now. Lets see what happens with Ayton. I think we hear something today...if not a result, where the process is. I didn't expect them to do any arbitrating over the weekend, but should today or tomorrow. But we can be fine playing small and have Diallo play spot minutes. A lot of people mentioned Kenneth Faried before who I think is a FA and played a little D, blocked some shots, etc, last year. I think he's a FA who could be an end of bench guy who provides energy. But ultimately I don't think we need anyone and would maybe need to cut someone unless we got an Amare exemption. Then I think there is Joakim Noah but probably a no there.

I wouldn't change anything either. In fact cases like Ayton's do scare me a lot. I mean, if the team continues playing fine with Baynes starting it will be a mess to introduce DeAndre again in the equation. Everything will have to click again and it would be like starting over.

It would be even worse if we sign new pieces to "overcome" this slump.

I picked 4. If we can get 5-6 I'd be really happy. I want more though but without Ayton and Rubio, it won't be easy.

By far Frank the Tank has been the biggest surprise in terms of player. While he hasn't gotten steals or blocks his defense has been much better than was advertised. His scoring and rebounding are way up over his career numbers too. If he keeps it up he will be one of the best contracts in the league.

Also assists. He's averaging 3 and had 6 in his last game.

Lowest ranked 2 win team, behind winless pels and pacers. Its killing them to not have the suns at the bottom.

One thing we're seeing is, the players we acquired this past off-season are smart and experienced. Losing guys like Jackson and Bender allowed us to add players like Frank and Baynes.

Yea we should be 19. We competed with Denver and beat-up both Sacramento and LAC. How the Pacers, Pels, and Thunder are ahead of us, I don't understand it.

I just saw that. Don't care...hope our team sees it and uses it as extra motivation.

all of the other rankings so far are much better though. CBS sports has us at #8 I think.

The FO deserves a ton of credit for finding value in players other teams cast off - Carter, Kaminsky, Rubio, Baynes. What's most amazing to me is how well we're playing defensively despite not having players who are celebrated defenders in this league - but that's a credit to the coaching staff, I think. Frank's defense and rebounding have definitely been much better than I expected, while Carter's shooting has been way better than I expected.

The way things are going, James Jones has a shot at executive of the year, and Monty has a shot at Coach of the Year. Too much improvement from too many players for the guys up top not to get a lot of the credit.
