Suns sources have said the same thing. While the two teams could continue to hammer it out, the Warriors say that they are keeping their No. 7 pick, Stephen Curry. Sorry Knicks fans.

I am not too surprised that these trade talks fell apart. Golden State was rumored to be offering way more than anyone else was being rumored to be offering. There were rumors that the Bulls and Suns pretty much agreed to a trade of Drew Gooden, Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha, and draft picks for Amare Stoudemire at the trade deadline, but Phoenix reportedly backed out at the last minute.

That package is a far cry from the Golden State package, which was rumored to feature Andris Biedrins, Brandan Wright, Marco Belinelli, and the 7th pick, which became Stephen Curry.

I don't think Amare Stoudemire would have ever agreed to a trade to Golden State either. He would get there, and there would be very little talent around him. They couldn't make the playoffs in Phoenix with far more talent than what would be left in Golden State. Amare doesn't have a no trade clause, but just him telling them through his agent that he doesn't want to go to Golden State would probably have been enough to halt the trade. Would Golden State really want to give up Biedrins and Curry for a player who is likely to leave their team after just one season? It wasn't going to happen.

Bulls fans can now go back to hoping and praying that the Bulls somehow strike a deal with the Suns for Amare Stoudemire.

Riley is an idiot then. You always have contigency as in drafts - whacky stuff happens - like Thabeet being picked 2nd, the Kings passed on Ricky Rubio. So "shtuff" happens in a draft. Now, do you really think GSW didn't have a clause with Phoenix that said "well you know, if for some reason Blake Griffin gets to 7th, and we know he is not going to number 3, BUT, BUT if Blake G gets to 7 = we will take him."
.

The warriors can't tell the Suns that they coveted curry, its just not a good business model to just dump information like that. What if kerr decides to forward that memo to minnesota, etc.?
Catchall:The Bucks traded him for Monta Ellis and did well in that trade. If they can move Biedrins and Jefferson without losing much more than Barnes and another pick, I will be genuinely impressed.Iguodala is a short-sighted contract. Overrated player.

Kerr thinks only like 5 players are worth the Max - and I think those 5 are:

The Big Fundamental
The Black Mamba
King James
The Big Ticket
and maybe the Flash in S. Beach

Stat is not on that list. And really, part of thinks Amare is such a diva out there, that he doesn't deserve the max and for a TEAM point of view - better to move forward. Then again, the other part of me would love to see Amare at the 4 with a healthy Tyson Chandler at the 5 and the Suns pick up a guard that can play defense to help Nash and LB and see what happens.

I'm leaning towards locking this. But then I know someone will create another thread anyway

Warriors and Suns fans both obviously support their franchise and neither is going to convince the other that they're right/wrong. it's best to just leave this issue until NEW news comes to hand, we're just fighting like kids at the moment and it's boring as batsh*t

Why would you lock this? This is a message board to voice are opinions. We can and should be able to say what we'd like even if its negative.

somehow it happens in the nba that teams make trade and pick for other teams. who is to say when the suns agreed to trade to the knicks - the knicks wanted nate robinson, the suns didd't draft somebody else, they drafted nate. i am not buying it - i think GSW pulled a quickie as they were unprepared for reality.

and one curry got to 5 - they could have called the suns and said -- our guy is still on the board. hell, they had 5 minutes to tell the suns, our guy is on the damn board - we are taking him so FU

lol at actually using Dabulls website. The owner of that site is the biggest Bulls homer/douche bag you'll ever talk to. He's also going off of something that Ford was wrong about.

You know where you’re at a store and you’re looking at something and right after you put it down someone is right behind you waiting for it and they put it in their cart?

GS is that other person. They knew we wanted this kid and once they realized that we wanted him that we would give up one of the best players in the league, they kept him. Even if curry was a turd, somehow GS would think it' a flower just because we wanted it.

IHG, don't worry about the doubters who show up here. The fact is, they're scared that Curry will be a Sun. Besides you and I both know that these same GS doubters will be in these boards bragging about how great Stoudemire is once the deal goes through.

Nah i disagree. Curry does seem like the PERFECT fit for Nellie (LOVES smart players who can shoot and pass), they've been scouting him for a couple of years and Nellie said he watched a ton of his game film, etc. He's one of the best in the biz at spotting guard talent. They even said he was second on their big board behind griffin.

LOL. Why would anyone Minnesota picked make them excited if a deal were already in place and it would ruin Kerr's "reputation" to back out on it?

What's crazy is GS fans are scared that Curry will be a Sun INSTEAD of being excited would be a Warrior. It's AMARE STOUDEMIRE.

is that why he put together a great team the last few years i believe you have a total of a losing record the last 4 years (157-171) thats cause he scouted good talent

IHG, I'm going to try and change the subject here. You mentioned last night that Kerr was trying to trade J-Rich. Have you heard any of the possible destinations for him?
